if you buy 10,000 banner impressions, have you had any signups/referrals???? I was just wondering. I wouldn't think it would be as effective as a paid e-mail or ptc.
petcalent
I got 1 inactive referral for a 30,000 impressions.
But sure it must depend on the program you're promoting
and where you're promoting it.

It really depends what the banner looks like. If it's clear on what the payout min is, maybe referral % and things that ppl look for, then ppl MIGHT, MIGHT join, and the banner might work. But I personally would go for paid-mails almost definitely, I have an average of 5~10 signups from paid mails in most of the paid-to-read sites. ai.gif

if its a new program then you would have a lot of success

or a good idea would be make the banner attract a lot of attention

like put in giant capital letters

FREE MONEY!!!!

Yep...

And make sure the banner is animated.

With a animated "click here" if possible aa.gif

Symetric banners are proven to get the better results too.

i might as well comment.

Flashy banners, which attract a lot of attention, and a high CTR, but does not accurately describe the program people are clicking through to, will not be effective. You'll get a lot of clicks, and maybe a few inactive referrals.

Descriptive banners, highly targetted, and yet are still eye-catching, will net a lower CTR, but a much higher response rate.

Which is better for you? It depends, evaluate both, try both, and see what happens

If you can get a zillion banners or redeem for them AND run ptc and email on that site, it might be effective. Clickthrus on banners are weird, they are unpredictable in many ways.

Do not ever pay a lot of money for banners. But, the continual reminder with combining them with other ad approaches is a good idea.

Caesar is right.. also, go to a lot of the banner exchange sites and the design sites and see what they have to say. You can make a lot of nice banners for free yourself.

Try addesigner.com to create a quick banner... most importantly, you must have a eye catching ad line...

I got 25,000 banner impressions from adearners ans so far, out of 657 views no one has clicked on it, what a waste!
deerhunter1526
banners don't work.
Kamz
banners just dont work.

go for paid emails
Mango88
I have gotten some referrarls from banners... But it depends on the banner, the program you are advertising, and the program you are advertise them on.

But I would rather use paid emails then banners any day.
Caesar3Wiz
uhhh... you can't expect much higher than a .2% CTR nowadays.

Don't BUY banners... earn them.

lol this is actually quite funny (No offence ico2!) but you say that you think banners are a waste of time and after reading your answer I saw your signature selling banner impressions! ae.gif Why do you sell them if they're a waste of time ak.gif ?

Says it all really.

ab.gif And if they clicked the banner
because their eye was catched, but
the site makes them feeling fooled
they don't join, never comeback, and
the next time will cost more effort to
get them clicking in a banner.
