I'm not sure how many people are getting these messages, but I am getting at least 5 spam messages a day relating to egold investment programs. Clearly, most of them are from a single source. I know that I could get a spam filter or just delete the messages, but I'd like to find out if other people are getting these and would help come up with some ideas to get this to stop or if anyone knows a legitimate way to get off the list.

Here are some sample subject lines of the emails that I am talking about:

1000% in 20 days..
love gold affair
1000% for a month

Many of these were claiming to come from @yahoo.com email addresses (although it does not appear that they really came through yahoo), and then @email.com but today they show as coming from @cox.net. That is easily faked though, so I do not believe that contacting cox.net would serv any purpose.

Sometimes they ask for you to vote for their program in a forum. That might be a place for us to log complaints? Other times they have pointed to a yahoo group (at groups.yahoo.com)...this might be something that yahoo would shut down.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

You ever joined up with egoldforum, or replied to a safe-mail.com email address from your egold account, where a 1 cent spend was made telling you to urgently contact them ,yet got no reply. IF so, that's where the spam/scams are coming from. GMTech.

I've been getting these Spam emails too, and I've only had an e-gold account for 1 month AND the email I'm getting these SPAM to isn't the one I've used for my E-gold registration. I'm not joined up with the egoldforum or replied to a safe-mail.com email address - I've never heard of either of them.

Whereever they're coming from they're really annoying me

Here's something I'd like to have some other people try..

One of the latest spams has the subject:
30% daily for 6 days.IT IS PAYING PROGRAM
"DOUBLE" <doubleegold@cox.net>

The website that it wants you to join has a link to this forum:
http://www.poolofgold.net/forum/topic.php?...=2&grp=2&t=3038

signing up to this forum only requires a user_id and password (no email).

What do people think of posting complaints about this "30x" program in the thread on that forum. I posted one already. If we complain about their program or spams they will make less money and might be discouraged!

I've been getting tons of them to and it's only to the email address I use here.

Isn't it any way to make a formal complaint to his ISP?

Ok, this crap is getting out of hand. I sent numerous reports to abuse@aol.com about e-gold spam I've been receiving (all to the addy I use in the d/l builder here), and the amount of spam I'm receiving now has tripled. I'm about to really go off on aol about this crap. I've got enough to do throughout my day besides report and delete spam. I have no clue how to get the headers on mail through my netscape addy, and heaven forbid the help section include it, so if anyone can tell me how to do this so I can report through spamcop I'd appreciate it.

I really hate to think about having to go through all of my programs and change what addys I can to another addy. am.gif

I've never had any correspondence with egold. I'd be willing to try I guess...If enough people complained maybe egold would do something. But they are the opposite of paypal and seem to -allow- anything, so I'm not sure if this person is violating any policy of theirs?

The problem with complaining to the spammers ISP is that I don't know who the ISP is? The return address is easily faked as you will notice it is changed on each email. From the email headers, I can see:

Received: from unknown (HELO tony) (203.93.244.140)
(matching one of the IPs calliope reported before)

Can someone tell what ISP that is from that IP?...I'll complain to them if we know who they really are?

I know fighting spam is usually a waste of time, but I've never seen so many from one person without a way to stop it. 8 today so far. Geez!

If your getting spamed by a company contact their hosting and lodge a complaint. If your getting spamed by a person contact their isp and lodge a complaint. Its possible they will get shut down or lose their isp.
