I'm starting another PTR site and was wondering what everyone's opinion is on the must-have/best plugins.

I'm especially interested in what ad manager plugin everyone thinks is best (if any). I currently use the cashplugin auto ad manager on castawaymail. While it is a great time saver, it does have some drawbacks that need to be addressed.

Thanks.

Cashplugins Ad Manager is the best .. Any other ad manager is lacking most of the features that Cashplugins offers. I am not sure what drawbacks you are referring to but Imad is always improving the plugin and is always open to ideas.

I have the Ad manager and have the contest ptc plugin which I really like but I dont have many other plugins except those two. I do love the ad manager before it my life was a living he double hocky sticks cause I was managing three sites and doing it all by hand. I never could figure out the other ad manager it was difficult and limited.

Now for larger sites the payment plugin that cashplugins has is nice itis a payment organizer but more for convience for larger busy sites.

I am sure others can give you other suggestions on must have but those two are the only must have I need ...

Thanks...one of the drawbacks I was referring to was the targeting system. If an advertiser selects more than one interest group, it will only target members that are in BOTH groups. I feel this should be changed so it would target all the members in each of those groups. Or at least give that as an option. I emailed them about it and they said they were looking into it.

Hum well, this is what targeting is about LOL narrowing down the field so to speak and I think seasoned advertisers know this very well.
But if you run into one that wants it done the other way around, wouldn't sending the ad through good old 'send mail' work? I seem to remember the selected groups and preferences in there include all in both options - not sure though rolleyes.gif been so long...

Me and my ad manager... fell in love with the little guy as soon as he was installed blushing.gif and there's so much more to him than meets the eye too, I keep having these little surprises of what he can do laugh.gif

Well, I have to disagree with that. I have a marketing degree and many times people who are interested in your product can't be lumped into one category. That's what making them belong to both groups does. It makes it impossible for someone to target "internet" and "marketing", for example. Just because someone doesn't check off both interests, doesn't mean they aren't interested in something I'm selling related to online sales.

And yes, I could use the send mail option, but that kinda defeats the idea of an auto ad manager... sad.gif

Perhaps you could send a suggestion to Imad he is always open to new ideas for the plugins. I know at one time I ask about adding the percentage and flat fee to the plugin for payment methods and walla it got added. There are many things that have been added on suggestions.

Yes, I did send him an email a couple of weeks ago. He said that was something they were looking into.
