I didn't know I have to backup the paid email scripts before switching hosts. So what should I do now?

Go back to the old host and backup the scripts first and return to the new host when it's done?

Thats what I would do.

I have a createasite4u script, am about to change hosts, I have backed up everything from both the control panel on the host site and from the admin area of my site. Can someone help me with getting the site onto the new host? is there something I should do or can I simply upload it? I am a bit nervous of doing it as I have never done anything like this before.
Thanks, I know one of you wonderful people will help aa.gif

it is not as easy as just backing thins up and uploading them, mnost of the time you have to do some editing of your configh file, re post your dns, re-post your cron jobs, and so on.. it takes aboue 1-4 days for your site to be back online, if u need help i do offer it for a fee of 10 bucks and i do it all the dns, the uploads, and such

Or you could ask your new host for help. Many will be happy to assist you.

I just moved my site to a new server this morning. I did a full site backup and mysql backup last night and uploaded it to the new server. I then changed my nameserve info and this morning i deleted all the info off the old server. All went smoothly. If you do have cron jobs to be run make sure you set them up. If you cant figure it out, your new host should be more than happy to help you.

It has become really important to back up the site before you do anything!! Before you move it, make major changes, sneeze...anything!

Well I have managed to transfer the domain, set up the email and that all works now I just need to get my database switched over but when I try to do it by ftp I get a message my password is wrong. I just checked and moonlitsubmit.com is in Michigan where its the middle of the night right now so he is probably in bed, if anyone else can help me with this I would greatly appreciate it.

I have to go out for an hour or so but will check here as soon as I get back.

The database is backed up both on my computer in Australia and in my partners in Michigan for extra insurance.
