I used a site to buy some advertising, and instead of the link being submitted, I got an error message, indicating, "Your link cannot be found. This site has been having some problems. Please contact the administrator." I did this. He got back to me, and asked me to resubmit the link info. So, I did. The next day, I mailed him to confirm he got my response with the link. He asked me to resubmit the link AGAIN! Okay, no biggie. I did. But, instead of running the link, I received ANOTHER e-mail, asking if the link needed bolding or italicizing. I replied, no, it didn't. Just a regular link. The next day, I get an e-mail on the account I use for Paypal, asking for my order number, and to RESUBMIT the link info! About 5 run around e-mails later, I sent an e-mail stating that I no longer wished to have the link run. I just wanted a refund. I haven't had a response to this mail, yet.

I paid $5 for the advertising and got nothing. You can't brush 5 bucks of advertising off when in the GPT industry. After all, it can take MONTHS just to make your investment back. If I'd gotten something out of it, it would've been worth it...

I have a feeling that unless I can take some kind of action, the request for a refund will go ignored. Is there anything I can do about this? I will not give $5 away without a fight! am.gif

File a complaint with PayPal-they will usually fix legit ones:)

How would I go about doing this? I reviewed their complaint policy, and it seemed to indicate that they'd only do something about tangible items...items that can be shipped. If there's a way to do this for GPT related purchases, I'm all over it! aa.gif Thanks.

Does the PTR have a support folder here?
IF so, post a link to this complaint and see if you get your money back.
If not, do what you gotta do to remedy this.. in YOUR favor.

Oh, hey. That's a good idea. I thought I'd give the guy a few more days to get his act together before I name any names.. but if, say, nothing happens by Sunday, I'll do that. aa.gif Thanks for the suggestion.

I purchased advertising, paid by paypal and never got it advertising, filled complaint with paypal and finally got answer from the person. Got my money back and cussed out by the person refunding it, but I did get my money back.

Hope you get good results also.
badkitty
Exactly how did you go about filing the complaint?
I don't think scamper has seen how to do it?

This may be one reason why paypal looks so closely at PTR's. If these kinds of problems were solved without having to file complaints I don't think paypal would interfere so much.

WTG. aa.gif I'd love to know what you did to file that complaint. It's my next step. Thanks.

Oh, and it's SO unprofessional for a WM to cuss you out over that. I hope you gave them a piece of your mind.. I know right now that if this WM is rude to me (I've never been rude to him), I'm going to copy what he says, and paste it all over the GPT boards. I'm vicious!

Actually, I'm usually sweet & innocent, but that's my money he's screwin' with! ac.gif

Just for the record.. I would have wanted my money back too. As a wm, if I make a boo boo as to lose your link after you have sent it 3 times I would be giving you something free in return for your inconvenience... And make it up to you some way some how.

I do understand what is it to give your hard earned dollars to wm and then feel screwed when you do not know what is going on with your money.

I am glad you got back your money. Lots of us do not get the ad and still do not get the money.

I hear ya, but filing with PayPal hurts us all. If they freeze his acct from it, then he can't pay ANYONE.

I'd use the forum to track him down, report the situation to other WM see if they know him.

Oh, wow... I didn't know they froze accounts over that. I'm definitely not looking to hurt anyone (not even him, believe it or not--notice, I mention no names.) It's just... sigh. This isn't the first time this has happened. On this particular site, yes. With PTR, no. It gets frustrating and tiring after awhile. It's a learning process.

Honestly, I'd be afraid to say something bad about this site, because the ONLY reason I joined, was because it's been spoken of all over this board as being a great site for both advertising and PTC. I guess... it's okay. I'm not that impressed with it. I think people are happy with the low payout....Still, I could just see coming here to post what had happened, and have people thinking I'm making stuff up... for whatever reason.

By this point, I'm sure that if the WM doesn't feel that there will be consequenses to his lack of action, he'll just keep my money and blow me off. That's not cool. I usually wouldn't be so uppity about $5. That's about what I tip a good server... However, PTR/PTC is different, where you can spend $5 on a site, and have it take months to make that investment back. If my link had actually run, and maybe I'd gotten refs, or some benefit from it (even if I didn't, I still would've gotten what I paid for) I'd be happy. ab.gif

Maybe I could try a guilt trip....Can people really live with themselves knowing that they're essentially stealing? Guess they can... <sigh> ah.gif
