I saw many websites that promoting affiliate programs are full of text with highlight in a long page with few pictures. Maybe it could be an advantage in search engine rankings but does anyone visit their sites bother to look all over the page crowed with text? Even i can't withstand reading few paragraphs huh.gif
Hope someone can explain why to me smile.gif

The page rank does have a lot to do with the content on a page, but usually I will only read it if it is relavent to the site. I cannot stand junk content only used for ranking standings.

When I reached an affiliate website, the first thing that decides my duration to stay is how presentable.

Since it's affiliate site, of course I would scan for the plan. I'll read the text, if it catched my interests.

But I would instantly close it if: -
1) too much links with tons of affiliate plans
2) too much gif animation

If banner popup twice, that's it. And if loading speed is slow, fine, I'll go elsewhere.

I say a combination of both. content is a big factor and the point is to keep people there not send them away. Good articles about advertising and so on, may help take away from sites that just look like links.

I agree with you. The first thing I decide is whether or not you can keep me interested and sites that just have a tons of links will not do that. The point is to keep people at the site and to make them like it enough they tell others about it.

Banner popups too are a problem for me. There are many sites that keep my attnetion long enough forme to click away.

The best way for affiliate websites is to have a full page of keyword rich text content that can attract visitor. So, there is no use of any text ... it must be interesting and quality text that will convice visitor to click on affiliate link. Link, banner or popup farm cant do that!
