Are the posts in the Chit Chat folder no longer counted for the overall post count of a person? This is a good idea and I am glad.

I hope that everybody will continue to use the chit chat folder in the same way, it's still a great way to get to know each other and have fun.

btw, and this is not directed at anybody in particular, if I see the kind of chat that's been going on in here spilling out into other folders just to bump up post counts, I will be sending out warnings which may result in a ban request.

That's because the people who were rushing here to post so that their post count would go up can't do that any more. If that is the only reason for posting in here, then those posts aren't worth reading.

btw, it's dying, not dieing, sorry but it's been bugging me for ages.

I personally don't really care if I don't get more numbers on my postcount when I post to ChitChat, I'm not going to post less just because of that! We're in the middle of packing over here so I can't access the computer as much as I liked to and that's why I haven't been posting that much! Though it does seem stupid to pack without knowing where the stuff is going to.......

Well, my number of posts hasn't decreased so it seems like old chit chat posts still count but I guess new ones don't...

I tried avoiding posting in chitchat unless I had something useful/worthwhile since I felt inane chatter shouldn't be rewarding your post count. Now that they don't count, I'll probably post here more often

Not sure. What you considered worthwhile posts does npt mean they are considered worthwhile posts to others. I don't posts posts with nothing but one word or smilies accept in the game threads. Those threads do seem worthwhile since it keeps people out of trouble and which leads them to have a good time without fighting. Now, I thought posting just smilies, and that quotes of I bored was wasting bandwidth.

Well, this new rule is punishing the people who are bad by breaking the rules, but also punish the ones who do not break the rules at the same time.

Poncer, this isn't personal. It was done for the good of the forum. If you don't like the new rules, you don't have to stick around whingeing about them. Read a book, watch a play, anything! Listen to amyszoo, sore_fingers, etc, they are talking sense!

One more point, somebody who only posts in chit chat isn't really contributing much to the forum, are they? I'm not saying there is anything wrong with it, just that I would rather trade money with people who are contributing to the whole forum.

Mods have posted somewhere lol that they check a persons posts to make sure their quality posts. So posting non quality posts elsewhere will not help them in the referal and money exchange.
