When I sign up for memberships with paid email programs I don't believe that gives those webmasters the right to use my mailbox as a forum for their political views. It is specifically to be used for paid email and/or updates on the site. Anything site related is appropriate.

This is the 3rd email I received today on the war. I do not personally care what your views are regarding the war or any other political matter when I am focused on the job at hand. There is enough political discussion going on outside my mailbox. In my opinion, if you feel the need to discuss the war then do so in private emails between yourselves. DO NOT USE MY EMAIL BOX AS YOUR POLITICAL FORUM. There is a spot here in this forum for General Discussion if you feel the need to bring the war into the paid email business.

And while I'm on the subject.. I don't think it's appropriate to send unpaid emails talking about sitting in front of the computer naked because your husband has your suitcase in his car. Why do we care if you're naked or not? Why do we have to receive EIGHT, yes EIGHT!, unpaid emails in one day about your car and it's issues, your hangnails and other absolutely ridiculous subjects? I don't care if you're standing on your head, filing your nails while farting the national anthem when you send out that PAID email! Just send the mail..

This is total abuse of the position of webmaster and the power that goes with it.

GD adds little tid-bits at the top and thats cool...AN OVERDOSE is simply not cool and yes, youre right..these emails should simply be deleted but havent you ever felt like..."ok,thats it,I've had enough"????And dont even talk abt unsubscribing,we've been down that road be4.

I totally agree.
When we sign up we agree to receive paid emails and other emails related to the site/program.

Some of them have gotten out of hand lately....nothing whatsoever to do with the program.

And as far as "...just delete them..." goes, why should I have to waste my time opening them in the first place?
If the webmaster/mistress wants to talk about things not related to his/her program, they can go to a forum, put it on a separate page on their website, OR ASK MY PERMISSION TO COMMUNICATE WITH ME VIA EMAIL ABOUT NON-PROGRAM SUBJECTS!

If they want to send me personal emails....then they should put a check box on the site in the "interests" section, and get my permission.

I agree with nze.

I'm glad to hear things going on in webmasters' lives, but sometimes they go too far with it.

I sometimes talk about things going on about me, but I always do so in a site update email or a paid-email.

In my opinion, giving some of this information is great, but dedicating an entire non-paid email is not very appropriate.
moonieb
well.....Maybe in the subject line it should say NON paid, and off topic...

Rhea from tombmailer.......always puts in the subject line what the e-mail is about, if it is paid or for points it sdays so.......anything else in the subject line is not paid, and usually the subject line tells it how it is...if I have time I read it, if I dont, I delete it.

I guess it is getting worse.......I just have more annoying things in the GPTRE industry that bothers me I guess......

Didn't mean to brush anyones issues aside......I myself am having a bad day...lol....I hope you didn't mind me sharing that with yas ae.gif ac.gif

Nze aa.gif yes, GD has some cute PAID emails aa.gif I enjoy them very much! I DO pay attention to what's happening in people's lives while I do this work. I am interested in the plights and successes that people experience. I say prayers for those who are having a difficult time, and say a silent "hurray!" for those that are succeeding.

Moonie aa.gif I hope you noticed that I took my whining to the appropriate place .. the COMPLAINTS area of this forum and not your email box aa.gif and all UNPAID email regarding hangnails, nakedness, split ends, broken down cars, wars, etc. should go into the General Discussion area. I imagine that's what the term "General" means.
And yes, there are other issues in this industry currently happening. I'm aware aa.gif

As for your having a bad day.. I'm very sorry. I thank you for posting that here instead of my email box aa.gif I hope that today goes better for you!

I think that some webmaster's just want to be involved with their members and have a relationship with their members.. as far as the war thingy I know which program you are talking about and the webmistress had no idea that it was sent out (as she had another webmistress sending mail) and she re-emailed and apologized for it.

sometimes when they are telling members what they are doing in their personal life it's to inform the members where they are going or going to be so that way when they email the webmaster they will know that the person isn't there

I respect your opinion of course and I personally try not to talk about myself in my emails unless I'm going to be away for a few days.

but unfort. when you signed up you give the webmaster the right to send you emails rather if they are paid or unpaid and the only recourse you have is #1 to complain (which by posting here you have done) so that maybe webmaster's that do this will see their member's opinion and maybe change #2 unsubscribe from those sites

I think that some webmaster's just want to be involved with their members and have a relationship with their members..

I have no objections to this.. and this isn't the issue. I've responded above to this issue in response to Nze's reply.

I feel I've been very clear on what I feel is an abuse of the webmaster's/mistress's power in relationship to being our "employer".

If I sign up for a "Let's Be Friends" program, which I believe this forum to be.. then yes let's chat and debate. Paid email is that.. paid email. Now, if a webmaster/mistress is so sorely lacking in friends that he/she needs to send out unpaid mail to express personal/political opinions, then I believe a "Let's Be Friends" program is what that person should create instead of a paid email program. If I were to choose to join that "Let's Be Friends" program, I wouldn't expect receive paid emails from that group either.

Maybe, a good program that this webmaster/webmistress could create is "Let's Be Friends Email".. then there wouldn't be the expectations of a certain modicum of professionalism.
Kristin
i guess also if they are non-paid....well it could get annoying for people if they have a mailbox limit!! i personally don't, but i do delete most of these emails. i do read the ones with paid links in it though if it has "news" (or something along those lines) in the subject line.
BonusEmails
I do understand the frustration about those last few emails, but we have to remember to understand the circumstances of those.

The first email with the link to the petition was sent out. This was not a declaration, this was a ... heres a link if you wish to lodge your disapproval. (Just putting that in before the replies come flooding in here like they did to the webmaster).

One heck of a lot of emails were sent back in reply exclaiming all sorts of disgust and basically hitting out ... think what you want on that one.

As a matter of general response to those emails, an email was sent out by the webmistress who has been maintaining the tombmailer site, whilst the Tombmailer webmistress is away, as she received alot of the replies to the first mail. That email was trying to stop the torrent of emails sent in, and she tried to point out her stand-point . I can certainly understand this, as if I received harsh and/or attacking emails in multiples, the easiest way would be to send the reply to all who had received the first mail in order to try to stem the flow and explain a little. Maybe it wasn't exactly what the Webmistress of Tombmailer wanted or would have done herself, but it happened.

The third email, was then to explain and say sorry for everything that had gone on. Yes, she can go on a bit sometimes (don't hit me for saying that aj.gif lol) - just like I do (and am doing) and alot of the rest of us!!

It was just a situation that whatever attempt was made to rectify, it seemed to escalate. Members who weren't bothered by the original email, and respected that there are people out there who were happy to receive that link, and that anyone who did not want to go through the link should just have deleted the email, sort of got caught up in the aftermath of it all.

My personal opinion is that if I find a link I think my members may wish to use, or if someone pays for a non-paid email, then I will send it out. The vast majority of things in this world will offend someone somewhere, it's just that that link received one heck of a response and thus a response back, then more response to that, so the webmistress made a final plunge to end this tennis match.

The other emails in the past, heck I find funny on the whole. I think Tombmailer is one of those sites where you have to have a sense of humor similar to the webmistress' to enjoy the mails. Eight non-paids in one day, yes, maybe too much for those who have limited mailboxes, but that doesn't happen that often.

Wow, looking at this, I certainly live up to going on a bit ac.gif I just wanted to express a little back-up to those last emails.

This business is a world of it's own. It's all well to say that a webmaster oversteps the mark, but you should try receiving some of the emails we as webmasters receive. It's just inevitable sometimes that what we get hit with from our inboxes has to be brought out to the mass memberbase in order to stop the torrent coming into the mailbox.

Members agree to receive all mailings from the company when they sign-up, and it is inevitable that some sites are going to take a more 'chit chatty' relationship than others. Some of these sites are way to clinical for my liking, and I really enjoy knowing who is behind the monitor. But that is my personal opinion, and therefore I only belong to the websites that appeal to me personally.

prattle prattle babble babble whitter whitter ... sorry, just making it easier for me to go on forever lol - Gosh I do talk (write) too much! Now I see what my mother has been saying all these years is correct - Shut up Rachael! lol

Sorry for prattling on.

By the way, the email I sent in reply to the emails Rhea got about the anti-war link WAS A PAID EMAIL!!!! I realize that she'd sent out a bunch of non-paids, but that 'tweren't ME.

Thus, you were being paid to read it. Or not to read it, as your preference may have been.

It also had a title regarding the subject, I didn't just spring it on you!

I have ALWAYS been like this. Rhea has ALWAYS been like this. Some people like it, some do not.

One of the reasons I started my own PTRE was to make the whole thing MORE INTERESTING. Obviously some members don't agree with my idea of interesting. That's why there's other PTRE's to join.

I personally think it's a nice change from reading all the B.S. hype and scam crud that most of our ads really truly are.

when you talk abt war, regardless of whatever environment youre in,youre going to have 2 very opposing views...some for it and some against it..no need to put innocent members in the middle of the whole thing..simply IGNORE these emails.I mean you dont necessarily HAVE to reply to each "attack","response" or "view".Sometimes, its better to let certain things just go away...no need to turn it into a tug-of-war or whatever.

Actually now that so many WM's are using trick links that delete you account if you click on them, you pretty much have to read your emails today. Who knows maybe in the future WM's will soon start trick emails stating "if you delete this email before clicking on this link your account will be suspended". I agree you don't need to read it but now a days you need to at least skim through your emails, or face the wraith of WM's it seems.

Just today I accidently clicked on one of those delete your account links if you don't speak english, while I was trying to close the numerous pop-up ads that were jumping around my screen, from a previous link. I also got an email from a WM who said they were deducting funds from peoples accounts since they didn't click on link from their sponser (don't think it effected me). So you can see it's becoming more important to read emails, even if it's trash like here's my political views on such and such.

Also spreading your political views through mass emails isn't acceptable, unless your getting paid to do so, and even then I better be paid a lot ab.gif.

Cynon

PS: I'm not attacking any WM's with this response, just pointing out that's it's becoming more necessary for people to read emails, in order to stay in the programs that we join.
Brenda@PJ
Well, obviously you don't pay close attention to what my PJ emails actually do most of the time, but that's OK.

I published two member opinions, one joke about it, and my thoughts. None of it was bashing anyone, and I personally thought I tried very hard to open a discussion. I was trying to get away from the knee-jerk response the anti-war link had started.

The problem with me is that my opinions go wherever I go. I don't expect people to agree with them, but I am quite fond of sharing them. I'd rather read intelligent conversation any day of the week than YET ONE MORE AD FOR A MATRIX!!

There's two things come from this experience:

1) I won't be doing Rhea's emails any more
2) All sorts of people actually read the thing for once.. go figure...

What I do try to do is publish what members send me. It's an equal opportunity abuse of your mailbox that you volunteered to receive can opt out of at any time. Just try to look at it in the same light as watching television, or even reading the paper. You can always turn it off.
Brenda@PJ
LOLOLOL, "innocent members", lololol, like the ones who sent the darn stuff in the first place???

It's not a tug of war, if you'd read the emails. Rhea sent out a link on tombmailer that a few objected to. I published the objections WITH A PAID LINK, and my own opinion. Rhea published a response to that, apologizing for the can of worms.

There's NO problem here nor is it a tug of war! LOL!

"innocent members" hehehehehehe....
ruhappytoseeme
ad.gif LOL@Brian, maybe you shpould ask for that meail and write to the w/m asking for the pic ac.gif lol (joking)

As for emails with personal info, I myself love to know about the w/m`s becuase it makes them seem more real to me not like a automatic mailing. Im not saying send me 10 letters a day just talking about yourself or whatever lol, but maybe a paragraph in a paid email woul;dnt be bad once in a while.... people who dont want to read it can just skip down to the links and the ones who want to know about the people they are doing buiseness with can read the paragraph, and then there is no wasted space in your mail box cause the links are also in the email? As for a link about war(If I am getting that part right, as I didnt get this email) isnt that the same as say sending a email out for people to click for breast cancer or the spca or homless???? I myself always click those links (and when there I do every site there is there cause they are GOOD,causes) Yes we dont like a ton of non paid emails , but ya know, every now and then ya might actually find a link in one that you might want to join (if ya bother to ever read any)mostly we dont but if its in with paid ads usually I do) If its different , sorry, like I said I never got that email, guess I dont belong to that program.
I belong to gypsydad and almost every email biggins with a joke or antidote and I absolutely love it, makes the job more interesting aa.gif

and bonus emails... dont think I belong to your web sites either? (name would be the same as it is here if I do) am I allowed to ask here what sites you run? (thinking you would be my kinda web master ac.gif )
Brenda@PJ
And I never ignore things, it doesn't make them go away whatsoever. Like, 'if I close my eyes, the monster under the bed won't be able to see me'....

ai.gif

I was not and am not telling anyone what to think, I merely urged them to think about and stand behind what they believe, not merely argue about it in (gasp) forums, chat rooms, etc.

Guess I'd better get outta here and go do just that!
Brenda@PJ
In fact, here's the email

Letters Brenda Received Thanks To Rhea :-)

"Well, I was very sorry to receive your email
requesting my vote for no war. This attitude may
surprise you - after all, no one WANTS to fight in a war. However, I have
an opinion and insight that you should hear.

My husband is a soldier. He has devoted his life to defending this country.
He spent time in two wars - Vietnam and the first Gulf War. While he didn't
want to do either, when the country called him he answered.

What you don't understand here - and what many people in the country don't
understand - is that Saddam Hussein is a very real and dangerous threat to
thousands of US servicemen and their families (wives and CHILDREN) overseas.
The US military has soldiers in Kuwait, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and the Department
of Defense has US civilian employees in many countries that are RIGHT NOW
within range of Saddam Hussein's missiles and biological weapons. Often
I hear people say that Saddam Hussein is no threat to "us", but he most certainly
is a threat to soldiers and their families overseas.

I try to believe that it is just ignorance of the
facts that makes so many people in America ignore the threat he poses. It
is possibly just because they don't realize exactly how many soldiers are
overseas in regular duty positions and are in range of his weapons. Fortunately
for those soldiers and their families, George W. Bush is FULLY aware that
the lives of those soldiers and their families and children are in danger.
He cares about their lives and he is doing everything he can to protect
them from harm. Saddam Hussein has said many times that he would like to
kill us (Americans) all - and I believe him!

My husband, my daughter, and I are moving to
Heidelberg, Germany in 16 days. This will be our 3rd tour overseas. Right
now we are heading into a
country that is not liking us very much, and quite
frankly we are concerned. However, this is the
lifestyle we have chosen - a lifestyle of service to America - and we will
fulfill our responsibilities, despite how many Americans hate us for it.

Obviously I can not sign your petition, because it
would be disloyal to every soldier I know, and
especially those soldiers serving in overseas
locations that Saddam Hussein has the ability to
attack. I guess, also, that I will leave the
Tombmailer because I'm pretty sure I'm not the kind of member you are looking
for.

Whatever you may think, the young men and women who
are serving overseas do it out of love for our country and its citizens.
I think you should give them another chance."

AND

"Reah............
Since this email you sent out to your members was
not a paid to read, or from an advertiser, I can
only assume that you so stupidly sent it yourself.
Where is the link to vote for blowing that ######
dictator to ######? What you have done is show me that you are nothing but
a traitor to the United States! No one wants a war, but I will be damned
if I would ever put my name on anything such as what you have presented to
members. You make me sick! Please apply my earnings towards buying a one
way plane ticket to some other country where scum like you belongs, and hope
like ###### that the plane isn't blown out of the sky by terrorists supported
by Saadam"

AND, ON THE LIGHTER SIDE

"I know you love to send the members little joke or stories so I taught you
like this one since it concern my country and the us and by the way it is
the first time i come ot the site since you have change it great look.

GOOD NEWS!!!!

CANADA HAS OFFERED TO HELP THE U.S IN THE WAR ON IRAQ!
THEY HAVE PLEDGED , 2 BATTLESHIPS, 6000 TROOPS AND 10 FIGHTER JETS.
BAD NEWS IS.......
WITH THE CURRENT EXCHANGE RATE THAT COMES OUT TO 2 CANOES, A MOUNTIE AND
A COUPLE OF FLYING SQUIRRELS."

**** MY UNASKED FOR OPINION!!! ****

Everyone, including Rhea, the owner of Tombmailer, is entitled to their opinion
about the possibility (or perhaps inevitablity) of war with Iraq.

Now you get to hear MINE, since I've received some hate mail directed at
Rhea and feel the need to reply.

No-one in their right mind WANTS war, but even those quite opposed to it
will certainly buckle down and tend to the job at hand if (more like WHEN)
it comes.

To argue over it is pointless. We all need to serve the interests of our
country in our own way, and it is the very heart and soul of the USA to be
able to accomplish this as we see fit.

I personally served my country from 1989-1997 in the Air National Guard.
I was proud to have been in the military and had I the opportunity to do
so I would reenlist in a minute! I now feel that I serve my country to raise
my children to be law-abiding, respectful, and well-educated citizens.

With regards to the petition against the war - it is their RIGHT to feel
that way, and I as a citizen of this great country say - you go, folks!

And to those of my friends who serve in the military, I say - my heart and
prayers are with you. I hope you all survive doing the job that so many
of the rest of us are too selfish to do.

I've never met a military member who was 'for' war, but they also know that
if it comes, they will do their job.

Are those 'for' "peace" able to say the same thing?

War between Iraq and the USA simply another chapter in what's been going
on for centuries. Even if it's averted now, it will come up again. Our
world is too small, too easily disrupted, to be at peace with so many differing
religions, political systems, and economies.

For those who want to do their part in preserving their ideal of what the
USA is about - define what patriotism means to you, be it serving our military,
serving in a soup kitchen, or signing peace petitions. It is good to stand
up and work for what you believe in. Only by standing up for what you believe
in will you discover your true values. As long as you have come to what
you believe in through growth and thought, no-one can deny it.

If every single one of us stood up for what we supposedly believed in, there
would be no child abuse, no poverty, no litter... none of the things that
plague our communities. But many people do not do that. They are selfish
and self-interested, they want THEIR portion, but aren't willing to work
for it.

I do not always do MY part either, my apartment is a mess... I do not always
provide my children with a good example, and I must confess I was so disgusted
last election I didn't vote! But I know that I was wrong to do that and
I recognize my lack. How many people blithely go along and DO NOT REALIZE
they are neglecting their civic duty?

Keep your corner of the world clean and productive. Keep up to YOUR standards.
You will make far more difference in the world that way than signing a petition
or arguing in a chat room.

Look inside yourselves beyond the 'for' and 'against' - has your lawn been
mowed, are your children clean and well-fed, do you help out in your community?

If you are against our President, did you vote? Do you involve yourself
in the governing and development of your community?

My point is this - quit throwing stones and do your job as you see fit.
You can quite quietly make a HUGE difference, and you should.

End of soapbox.

Please visit this great search site and do a search - you never know what
you will find! aa.gif

I was not and am not telling anyone what to think, I merely urged them to think about and stand behind what they believe, not merely argue about it in (gasp) forums, chat rooms, etc.

Guess I'd better get outta here and go do just that!

sometimes, the wisest decision you can ever make is simply look the other way and let some things go.

I'll give you an example of something thats totally not related to this but I need to get a point across...when a friend loses a dear one,you dont have to talk to let them know you care, you can just sit quietly and hold their hand etc,etc...

Looking away has never been a sign of giving up--sometimes it is the smartest choice you can make!!!!

What a great way to ###### off a lot of your members by sending them crappy emails. ar.gif
Brenda@PJ
Well, I didn't feel it was crappy at all. Most of the response I got was that it was fine, and that they appreciated the discussion.

Like I said, I will not be doing that on Tombmailer again. I reserve the right to send out conversations and publication of whatever material I see fit on PJ. It's usually a paid link.

First time posting here but I have to add my 2 cents. It would be nice to have in subject line non paid or something that says its just chitchat. I have dialup and it takes time to open mail. I like tombmailer but she does send out alot of mail that is nothing. Sometime just a line to say she off then that shes not- thats shes waiting. This can get very annoying when you are trying to get through the mail.
About the emails about the war they are still coming. And this is more irritating then dthe other. I really don't want to hear it. There are good augruments on both sides. the people who want to discuss it need to go to a forum where those who want to listen are. I for one will just try and deal with what ever happens and pray for those that are hurt by it.

I feel this is a statement 2 people (and the 2 of YOU know who you are) need to repeat over and over in front of the mirror, like a mantra, before sending out email to their members. Pure ego energy running here.. ick

Now, if I were constantly defending this behavior I would take that as a message to apologize and do something about the behavior. That's how I am. It works for me.

I believe you have a clear understanding of how I feel on this subject, and I have no intentions of responding to you except in the case of an apology, and some kind of statement of change. There's no point in my responding to anything else regarding your views on this matter. I've read every single word that you've posted here, and not all the statements you've made here are truth. I won't go 'round and 'round with you on what you already know, and have seen written about in this forum numerous times. More members are against rather than for this behavior.

By the way, thank you for posting that email.. it truly speaks for itself. 3 pages of garbage and a search link at the bottom. What an amazing statement of self defense.

WHO IS THIS PERSON???

You are right that is no place for personal issues with car or husband or natural birth suits.... ak.gif

That kinda puts other webmasters in a bad light huh.

I send out one email per day. All I have to say in it goes in that one mail.... I think that if someone is signed up to 15 programs and each one had to send him 20 mails a day ..... that would be terrible. I hate it when some webmasters send me one paid link or unpaid link per mail but 20 emails. every day.... Common. What was so wrong you could not put two of them together. I will still click on it.

Sheesh....no-one is making you read them....just delete them....I for one like to read these "extra" tid bits.......I like to know there is a REAL person behind the program......There r a few programs that send out e-mails everyday, not even a hello in them....I am beinging to believe the program is on auto pilot...lol

Nope...no good whinging, just delete them, and move on....end of story!

Kimberley..there is someone adding a little bit of flavor and then there's an overdose...

GD adds little tid-bits at the top and thats cool...AN OVERDOSE is simply not cool and yes, youre right..these emails should simply be deleted but havent you ever felt like..."ok,thats it,I've had enough"????And dont even talk abt unsubscribing,we've been down that road be4.

someone can be personal but this is going a wee bit over board.

Where does the nakedness and husband have to come in paid mails???? ak.gif

I too am tired of the seeming overload of "personal" chitty chatty emails. If a WM feels they MUST rave on about some issue be it personal, political, religious or whatever, DON'T send me your diatribes unless it's a paid link aa.gif If you feel that strongly about something, then create a web page and post a link to it INSIDE of the regular business mail.

Yes, I agreed to receive non-paid mails, but I don't recall agreeing to receive propaganda of any sort. Yes, I do enjoy reading a little tidbit about someone having a baby, or going on vacation, or a funny experience at the local McDonalds, but I don't want to be hammered about subjects that are personal to me and have absolutely nothing to do with the paid mail programs I signed up for.

Think for a moment -- there are a number of WM who exhibit this behaviour or other behaviours that cause eyebrows to raise. Could it be a connection between those same WM complaining about no advertising coming in and their behaviours? Hmmmmm.....as one who advertises regularly, I am certainly cognizant of the respect or lack of respect a WM has. I won't advertise with someone where I see regular complaints.

Food for thought...

Well as some of these webmasters who are defending themselves in this thread have said. If you dont like that kind of "style" if thats what you want to refer to it as...then there are many other PTRs to join.

I agree totally with that part. I can say personally I signed up for one of those sites. Received my first email which had a bunch of BS nonsense and unsubscribed...LOL end of story one email is all it took.

Everyone likes different things in life I realise that. I personaly dont like to hear anything about the webmasters life and cetainly dont like them filling up my inbox with updates about this and updates about that in their personal life. PTR is a business...thats my 2.25 cents worth
ekelly
I just now received yet another of these "personal opinion" emails from a WM.
This time it is from golden-emails.com regarding the whole 1Heluva issue (which has been beat to death in the forums).

It is a non-paid, non-search email filled with info about how bad 1Heluva is, and at the end of it, asks members to send the WM their opinions on the subject.
I will not post the email here, word for word, because I respect the fact that the email was sent to her membership only (as far as I know) and don't want to be in trouble for sending it out for all to see.

But here is MY RESPONSE to the WM:

I don't understand why you sent me this message about Fred and 1Heluva.
This has nothing to do with my membership at golden-emails.com.
What relevance does this message have to me?

There are plenty of forums online where discussions on this subject are taking place.
I have enough emails to get through every day without having to open one about what I have read over and over again in those forums.

If I want to seek out information about the wrong-doings of other programs, I can go to the forums.
If I want to read other people's opinions.....that's what the forums are for.
If I want to state my opinion.....I will go to the forums.

Thank you,
Erin

Three of the emails published in that email WERE FROM MEMBERS! Helllooo, what part didn't you read??

I'd like to see where PocketJingle is complained about elsewhere for the nature of my emails!!!

Remember, you are NOT TALKING TO RHEA!!! I have no idea what you are talking about naked people or whatever.

I simply publish emails sometimes, good and bad.

I beg your pardon if Tombmailer members didn't like the search link, hopefully you don't run them yourselves.

OK, Tishereina, you were the one who didn't like the war discussion.

Let me apologize.

I should not have run that ONE EMAIL that I ran on Tombmailer. I should not have tried to put another view forth, I was reacting to my OWN feelings about the antiwar sentiment.

I apologize.

I have apologized to Rhea already about it.

As for PocketJingle members, it's my style, it's how I started PJ, and it's how I will run PJ. I do not do it in UNPAID EMAILS, however.

I actually do not think my opinionated style has a thing to do with getting advertisers or not, hate to tell you. I do not spend the time I should pursuing them. I have full time employment and two children and stay busy with that.

Now, I apologize for the angry things I have said in this thread. I was very offended by some of the things that were said or intimated about me, and I got very upset. I still am, but that's no excuse for insulting anyone.

It's one of the things that keeps me away from the forum. It used to be a fun place about a year ago.

I didn't mention this earlier but I had received some positive comments about the email I sent, from other program owners and members, so I guess I will have to focus on the positive aspects of this experience and try to calm down.

For those of you who hint around that there are many complaints about BRENDA at PocketJingle, please PM me with those threads I will go check them out to see if they are ones that I should know about.

I generally try to take criticism in stride, I suppose I just have a very very short stride that way...

Wow.

There are some pretty agro people posting here. aj.gif

I read the email myself and all I saw were a few different opinions. I personally didn't think there was anything wrong with it.

I'm sorry, but I don't see why everyone is jumping on Brenda about this. Perhaps it didn't belong in an email, the opinions are going to vary there, but why can't the topic be discussed rationally and without all the namecalling and bad remarks?

We are all different. We are all going to have different opinions. Some people may even be very passionate about the topic, but some of the remarks were really uncalled for.

I really don't think that the email was sent to offend anyone. Whether you are for or against war. It's such a shame that we can't respect each others opinions. Who knows, we may even learn something off each other. If we can't be civil in a forum, how on earth can we expect that to happen in the big wide world?

I'm sure people are going to have something to say about my post as well. This isn't to offend anyone. Let's just take a step back, take a deep breath and discuss this calmly.

I'm kinda glad we're not in a cafe somewhere or a riot would have started LOL.

listen up people! Stop this crap! You opt into a gptp mailing list. You authorize them to send you emails wheither they be paid or not paid. Also I am sick and tired of seeing ignorant people saying stop flooding my mailbox. You dont like hit unsubscribe even a blonde chewing gum could do it.

War sucks we all know, sometimes we have to have war to have peace and some times well we dont need it. Either way it's life deal with it. If you cant sad to be you. You need to stop griping and grow up. Leave Brenda alone, everyone makes mistakes and we learn and live by them.

You cant tell me any of you are perfect because you all would be lying. If you dont like my two cents go elsewhere. I swear if Brenda farts upwind from you, you all have teasy fits.

Ugh everyone grow up and see what life is ok. A journey that is made easier by people working together and not against either so cut the crap.
