I mean aren't people here for making money. I could understand people who want to sell points...but buying...what people can get for buying points?

Many PTR programs off lots of things for points.
Some members don't join PTR's just to earn cash.
They would rather use earnings or points for advertising.

I buy points at some sites because they are a great way to advertise cheaply and they are quite useful for redemptions. Also they get clicked on because they are sellable to others like me.

It all depends on the site. Some sites have point redemptions available for advertising,some for advertising and upgrades and some even have point auctions. Personally,I have used points to upgrade at a few sites and the benefits are nice. I have used points for lots of advertising,too.
The best sites to buy or sell your points at are the ones that offer all of the above. There will always be people who don't want the points and people who want to use them for all of the above,so if you use them to advertise,you know there are people out there that will read those point ads because they want to upgrade or win a points auction.

Sometimes buying points will get you to an upgrade cheaper than buying one and much quicker than clicking alone. If you want to sell points,don't ask ridiculous amounts for them,they aren't THAT valuable,LOL. I've seen people asking like $100 for 100,000 points on a site where you can earn 200,000-300,000 a day. No one is going to buy those. Again,it depends on the site though,if points are hard to come by and you have a ton that you don't want,you can get a little more for them. On the other hand,if you are buying points,just look through all of the listings for decent deals. You never know what you might find.

I will buy points in Wolfemails, because I would like to redeem very good ad - 1/10 c to 2000.

I had never thought about all of the possibilities conserning points. Sure did open up my eyes to read this thread!
