Hey guys..

I really don't like the new current design. I think it's too dark and a bit depressive.
But hey, that's just my opinion.

I was wondering how you guys feel about it. I've seen a few people already cheering but I'm not one of them.

I'm almost sure that this GPF related poll does NOT belong in the General Discussion thread, but I just can't post a poll in the GPF related thread.

I believe in democracy. If it turns out that people like the old design (or even a new, perhaps brighter design) I hope the mods/owners of this forum will listen to them.. But I understand that that's really up to mods/owners to decide. Respect!

I voted for the old but i do think it does need a revamp. A little brighter but not too bright if you catch my drift, lol.

I think this post should be in chit chat. Ther is one about it. I personally like this new design you will like it too when the time comes

I voted for the old one, but i like the new one as well - although it still needs some work/improvements, but as i understand the WM hasnt finished updateting it - hes only testing it...
And when everything is finished - everyone will have a choice - either to use the OLD or the NEW template

Please remember that the design is not finished yet. We will brighten it up a little plus make the orange less hard on the eye.

If it turns out that the majority don't like it then I will of course consider changing it, but I don't think we should get back to the old design, this site really needs a new look.

Definately the old one...I hope we get the option to choose it soon.

I liked the old one much better. I dont care if it was revamped, it really doesnt matter. the new one is just too dark.

Btw, jacobh, if you run the same Poll in a week or two time, you'll see that there will be A LOT more ppl voting for the new one - it takes time for ppl to get used to it... You see most ppl (including myself) were SHOCKED to see this new design and most of them might still be in this state...lol...
As i said in my post above, i like the new design (or at least i got used to it quicker than others), but PLEASE PLEASE remove that ORANGE - its killing my eyes...

I'm pretty sure I won't like this design in the next few months. I'm a designer myself. I think these colors are misplaced, but ok, that's my opinion.


The orange is the one color that still looks bright and happy (I'm on a laptop so the colors might be misleading to me). Those other colors are too dark.

Yes i agree. At first i didnt like it too, but after being there for about 5 hours i just love it. And the orange color really fits with blue. My room is painted like that.

It makes my eyes water and it's absolutely painful to refresh a page. And the little block head icons

I prefer the other one, but it doesn't really matter much to me. I would have much rather they spent the time and/or money doing something about the speed of the site. Its been horrible since it was moved, constantly timing out and getting board msg that its too busy.

I like the new one - seems fresh, more professional & .... just WAY cooler!

I hate this design, the colors really are depressing, those block Icons well yuckkkkk.

And I hate the forums with no lines between posts, you go into general discussion for example, and everyones post is underneath eath other with no dividing line, okay theres a gap, but its much better with lines seperating each post.

This design just sucks

I've been trying to think of what it reminds me of and it just came to me. The floatation suits we had to wear on the boats and salmon cages. Garrrr, try looking at 12 people dressed in navy and bright orange at 5am.

I like the new one best. More fresh and modern looking., Okay---maybe the orange "should " be toned down. I think in a few weeks more people will like this new look than the old one. JMO.

With all due respect jakob, you have to remember that a lot of us have been members here for a long time and we never had a problem with the way the forum looked....maybe it wasn't an award-winning design, but it was comfortable and we liked it.

I happen to like the new look personally (other than for the blockhead smilies), but I also had no problems with the old look.

Please don't try to "talk" anyone into saying they like something when they honestly don't. Greatness of a design is in the eye of the beholder...and we all don't see things the same way or like the same things.

Absolutely, I wasn't completely serious when I said that. I know you some of you might be a little upset because I'm changing your good ol' forum, but remember, the old version will always be there

Where? I don't have any option other than this one (wasn't planning on changing, but even if I wanted to I can't find anyplace to do it).

It looks ok so far...I don't really care for the block-smilies though and the new GPF logo is kind of plain. I liked the first design I saw yesterday with the dollar sign, before the blox-blue stuff came up.

I voted for the new look since i think the old look was for quite a long time and forum was in need of a new look.

I totally agree, even as a program owner I wouldnt have signed up if this had been the design. Not much use coming to a forum to read lots of things and not being able to do that because of the strain on the eyes.

The new design is not that bad, could do without the orange though. I still prefer the old design.

What's up with the girlie look( bling bling) with the logo?

Anyone who wants to get the old look back just choose the IPB Default Skin from the bottom of your page! Just went back to the old version and now my eyes don't hurt anymore
