For several weeks I've been getting sent an email off someone calling themselves big@boss.com
Luckily my Nortons has been picking it up and deleting it, but I seem to be getting it sent every other day of late, is anyone else getting this?

Do you not have a Virus Checker running?
If not, I seriously recommend you get one, go for Nortons 2003!

Hiya Brian, I was getting that email almost EVERY single day for a long time, and the very first place that I read about it was on THIS forum!!! I found that blocking the adress stopped it, but it took me about a month to rember I could do that lol. I never opened the email as I read about it before I ever got one. But I have a great virus protecter that updates automatically so I dont get to open viruses any way. There is a new one going around and it says it is from webmaster, be careful what you open . Check your email program that you are opening, maybe they have a block adress thing? good luck and mysweetdeacon Check your computer for a virus!!! And you should keep a virus checker running at all times while doing your emails

Yep same here

I have Norton 2003 scanning any incoming emails and it picks everything up and automatically deleted them, so I don't get to read the emails themselves!

Yep, same e-mail address. I think it is someone purposly sending these huge KBs to e-mail addresses hoping to get these e-mail addresses bounce where the victims will lose their accounts.

Yep......I get it, too. I don't use a mail client, just regular Yahoo webmail. I just delete it along with the rest of the garbage I get in my inbox.
Fortunately I do have the sense

enough not to open attachments
and I always have my Norton, AVG, and ZoneAlarm going full blast at all times

It may even be a crooked web master that we pi$$ed off???
That would explain why so many GPT'ers are getting these emails

The sad thing is that I was suppost to have some e-mail virus scan that is obviously not working and the other week I had too crash my computer. I got over 100 of the same e-mail trojans (the one that scans your e-mail and mass mails ppl on your address book and sends them viruses making it seem like you did it) and crashes everybodys e-mails. So I crashed my comp to get rid of it. Where do I get Norton?

Whats worse is these trojans hide in a file called symantec, which ironically is the company that created norton anti virus so I didn't notice at first.

Symantec are the makers of Nortons, are you sure you don't already have Nortons installed, as when its deletes an email with a virus attached to it, it re-names the email as Symantec....

I have gotten it several times too to multiple email addresses. Whoever is sending it is getting email addresses from the forums because the email address I received it at last happened within a couple of days of my using that particular address to sign up for programs in downline builders and there are only five email accounts with that particular domain name.

Now thats interesting

Do you know what sites you've joined using this email address?
If so, let us know, as it maybe a crooked webmaster thats sending them, as I can't see someone going through the trouble to get everyones email addresses from the downline thread, can you?

Now thats even more interesting, lol, I guess my suspicions of a pi$$ed off WM are thrown out then!
Although it is a worm, so someone that has signed up for a site, could be sending them out to you???

I don't think so.. The only way he could have gotten my yahoo account would be going through some really old threads cause my email is private up here... and I've even got them on my new isp and the forum doesn't even have that address.. So I don't know how they got mine.. I believe he/she is probably buying them from somewhere..

hi all,
i get this virus (it is a worm) nearly daily, but i run Norton anitvirus and ot detects this worm while the mails are downloading from the mail server and deltes this infected attachements after prompting!
But because it IS a worm, it also sends informations from infected computers back to the worm owner (especially eMail addys from outlook) if you didn't run an anti virus program, and a worm also resends itself with the sender mail addy from the infected computer to others from the adress book of outlook (some worms also use one of the found eMail addys as new sender mail, so you have nearly no chance to figure out from where you really recived that infected mail)
As long some ppl. run they puter without anti virus protection, this will not stop.
You can't do more then delete this stupid stuff!

Luckily my ISP has virus protection included in their service so it deletes these emails. ( Yep...have gotten loads of them lately too!!)0 Now if I could figure out where I keep getting Alevir, Brasil and some other flippin worms I'd be happy. I have Zonealarm up and AVG running but they always seem to get in somehow.

Now take care with Lovgate
It opens a port in your pc.
It uses the new messages folder in the email clients
to reply new messages and spread itself.
