Operation Overlord

Allied invasion of Normandy

The invasion of Normandy took place on June 6th 1944 by the Headquarters

committee of Britain and the US.

By 1942, Britain and the US had established a shared headquarters

which was made for an exact planning of an invasion of the US forces from

Britain to Western Europe.

In January of 1944, General Dwight Eisenhower was appointed as the

operation commander and Montgomry(sp?) as the land forces commander.

For defensive purposes, the Germans built the "Atlantic Wall", which was

made with obstacles, land mines, and other defending methods,

for all over the Western Europe beachs.

On the morning of June 6th 1944, the invasion began.

More than 2 million soldiers, 4 thousand seacrafts(ships?), and 10 thousand

aircraft(airplanes - maybe) from the Allied forces participated in the invasion.

By the end of July 1944, the Allied forces had managed to take over

a part of the German forces.

By August 25th, the Allied forces have released Paris from

the conquering of Germany, and so is Belgium by the end of September. - not exactly sure what you mean here.. Maybe - "On August 25th, the Allied forces freed Paris from Germany's rule, and did the same for Belgium by the end of September"
