Hi,

Im just starting to play around with the newly acquired CC scripts for my upcoming GPT site. I still have a lot of editing to do and find it quite hard as I cant seem to use Frontpage as my WYSIWYG editor (it messes up the php parts of the code)

Please advise me what editors you use to quickly add links and make rapid changes to your site. I dont want to go back to using notepad smile.gif

Thanx in advance,

WolfEmails
editpad or any other plain text editor.

with fromtpage you can deal with most of the HTML code in inblock and paste it in the PHP documents.

Things like the indexpage may be easier to do the other way around, make the page in front page then move the code to notepad and ad the PHP parts.
CHOUESTME
do not save any php file with Frontpage it well mess the code up

you can edit them with Frontpage but do not save it use crimsoneditor

copy and paste to crimsoneditor save than up laod the file to you host
WSYNG
text editor to edit code, and Dreamweaver to edit template

*LOL* well I dont have that much patience... I tried like 10 WYSIWYG editors, and in the end Dreamweaver 2K4 made it. It doesnt modify the php code (although often displaying parts of it in the edit window) and its functionality is unrivaled. I can also directly edit the pages on the server (and upload them right back) so it saves me a lot of time. I kicked Frontpage 2K out of the window, that proggie went as far as changing the code when I did such easy things as switching the view... but thanks again for all your suggestions !

The site looks good now and is working. laugh.gif Because of a few planned twists my team will still need to code some supporting scripts, so I hope Im about a month from release.

Two more questions arise:
* who do I contact to get programs owner status in these forums ?
* once we go into beta test mode I will need to make my site more "public" - where here should I do this ?

I am also a good logo maker (I hope, as I sold some), and because my site will have a "StopScam" policy against advertising unsustainable programs I created a logo I want to share with you all. In order not to reveal too much about the new serious GPT contender I also uploaded it to my other server (free online wargames there usually)... tongue.gif

Please check it out at http://www.kaomaris.com/StopScam.jpg

It is free to use, but once my GPT site will be up I will make a special page for it explaining the policy more in detail and what we can do to stop the scammers.

cheers everyone,

AL
