Hi All,

Well, don't I feel a fool? unsure.gif I joined the 500pounds500pence ptr a few months ago, and was really excited - my husband and I have just moved house, and so money was a bit tight for a couple of months while we settled in. It wasn't long before I "earned" the ?500 necessary for a cash payout, which I requested. The terms of the site said it could take up to 30 days, so I waited, and continued to click.

Then I got my next ?500, so I requested that. Then I got another ?500! But I still hadn't received the first payment... So I emailed them, and heard absolutely nothing. Not really surprising, I'm sure most of you are saying, but I was still hopeful (desperate, really!). Then a suspicious message appeared on the site saying that they couldn't answer any emails. Not sure why. Finally, after waiting for over 30 days (more like 60) and hearing nothing about my first payment, let alone the second and third, I emailed again, and got nothing. Again. SCAMMERS! blink.gif

So, I just wanted to warn people that this site, and others with similar names (500dollars500cents etc) will not pay, and will not contact you. I'm considering taking the matter further, as I believe we had a contract of sorts. Anyone else willing to join me in this one? mad.gif

Yes they are scammers with no intentions of paying.

Remember 1 rule before joining, if it looks to good to be true, it most definitely is.

Sites like this are there to lure those unsuspecting and those who really think they can earn large sums of money like this.

There is no possible way. Many of them have thousands of members and those members seriously think 1 person behind a computer will really pay all that money, if one just thinks hard and really looks into things they will realize its a big bunch of hogwash.

Depending on the laws where the WM resides as well, it would probably cost more in any other fee's than what it would be worth for programs like this.

They aren't designed to make hundreds or thousands of dollars. Sure one could possibly make that much, but that would be with 10 or more programs combined, including auto/manual surfs, traffic exschanges, promotions, paid to promote and other forms of earning. Not just 1 site can earn anyone that much.

Take it as a lesson learned and find programs that are sustainable and pay its members, there are tons out there smile.gif There were many of us in the same boat, I was one, well not something with that big of a payout, but at the time it was $50 payouts, now people are just getting insane with all these other higher paying programs.

Here's a scam list for you, I have it bookmarked and the person who started the thread does update it. If the sites not on there, feel free to post the name to get it added.

Welcome to the forum lisamarie. smile.gif

Don't get discouraged by this (first?) experience with PTR. There are paying sites out there, you just have to find them. A few general tips:
1) When you see a program you're interested in, check the advertising prices (under 'Advertising' or the likes). See how much a paid e-mail costs. A site needs to be able to pay every member (or nearly every member) in order to be 'sustainable'. For example, a 1 cent e-mail to 4,675 members for $5 will not nearly cover the costs of the e-mail. So check is a site can survive.
2) If a site is sustainable, check this forum. Do a search in the Complaints and the Praises folders. You'll quickly get to know what's what with the program.
3) If you're not sure or if you have doubts, don't hesitate to ask us if a site's any good. We're happy to help.

Hope this helps you a little. If you have any questions, you can always PM me or ask the entire board smile.gif

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for all the replies - I realise now that, of course, no one could pay all that money, but at the time it seemed like such a good idea! I do feel just a tad silly, but you're right, you do learn from your mistakes!

I am a member of some other PTR sites (which pay "normal" sums of money, not the insane amounts promised before), and I'm currently checking them out via this forum. So far so good, I'm happy to report! laugh.gif In fact, one even paid me today, so hurrah, there really are honest PTRs out there!

hi there
ok if the address is in the uk the trade watchdog will like to know what he is doing.
i mean if he is doing this as full time work he must pay income tax, so maybe have a word with your local inland revenue office about it.
if you don't mind can you send his details to me by instant message thanx

first rule of thumb with PTR's

ANY site with the name ###dollars###cents (replace ### with numbers) is most definately a SCAM

PTRs usually are payers if the emails are each worth 1cent or less, just above that, its very unlikely, but not many of them about.
