Ok hands up those of you who are NOT based in the USA and signed up to Kerklink???

Well I discovered a little problem with the program. Payout is $10 US by cheque which is all fine and well if you live in the USA.

However if you live outside the USA this is when the trouble starts. You HAVE to cash out at $10 the problem is given the exchange rate from US$ to AUS$ the cheque is worth around $15 AUS on a good day....the cost to me to cash a US cheque is $25 AUS!!! So that would leave me out of pocket by $10 AUS!!! So I thought I would email the powers that be to see if I could allow my cash to accrue until say I had $50 US. The reply was NO!!! I have to cash out at $10....so what do you do with a useless cheque??? Toilet paper maybe????

This site promotes itself as being an international siteyet its international members are at a disadvantage because they will be out of pocket.

Just a suggestion, do you know anyone in the USA who could recieve the check for you then credit your paypal account for the same, then you draw from paypal like you normally would?

wow, sorry about that , I belong to that program and I love it, but I am in the usa. I would gladly (If they will do it and not take my money away from me0 cash the check and when it clears send you the money thru paypal. But they would have to send the check to me as I cant put someone elses check in my bank (used to be able to but now they want the person there too, and its a long flight from aussie tp pa LOL) I hope they decide to change their ways so you can actually get paid in a way that would benifiet you.

lorrainenewman good suggestion and I had thought of that as I have a few friends in the US.

Thanks for the offer ruhappytoseeme and I do appreciate it but they won't make my cheque out to anyone else either. I did suggest that idea but they rejected it. What makes me mad also is they are promoting themselves as an International site, they run advertising for people from all over the world (they have even had ads for the Australian Navy on their site) yet in reality their International members can't get paid without being out of pocket.

I used to work for a bank (in the US) and the way it works here at least is:

They dont have to make it out to anyone else. You just have to endorse the back- you can also write who you want to make it payable to if you wish. But once your signature is on the back, the person depositing it into their bank account signs beneath you. Then becomes a "third-party check."

I live here also but the bank I belong to first national bank of berwick refuses to deposit any check unless the other partty is with me, this even went for my fiancee in the same house ohmy.gif but if we were married they would let me put it in oh wait, if I was to add his name to my account, but I am not ready to do that

I wanted to join this site awhile back, but the payout option stopped me.
It certainly is not fair to international members the way it is.
