Well I know people who have them in the house, so they arent rolling in the mud all day LOL I dont think they are any smellier then a dog (but I cant be certain) I do know they have much less hair then most dogs , besides I love ferrets and they have a distinct smell (some think it stinks some love it, ive grown to love it, as long as I keep their linens clean and litter boxes, other wise they smell like a pet store ferret and they smell ohmy.gif (till you get them home and keep everything really clean for them)

pig? or ferret ? LOL

We used to raise pigs when I was a kid. They're really smart, friendly and prefer to be clean, they even "housetrain", but they have a strong BO and even a huge litter pan wouldn't quite do it. Can't imagine keeping them in a house, the barn was enough for ours and that first whiff when you opened the door to go in first thing in the morning was powerful. ph34r.gif

maybe thats the difference, theirs was house broken (well they house broke it) so it actually was let out in a specific part of the yard (fenced just for the piggy lol) I saw this lady on animal planet, she had like 8 pigs and they had a room that had mini walls with beds for each pig, was adorable, hers went outside to go potty too, no litter boxes. I imagine its hard to potty train a pig tho. And these people had a very clean house altho it looked seriously baby proofed (probably so the pigs didnt knock things down LOL) the lady on animal planet had her pigs do a ton of tricks, she was a older woman , married and I think the kpigs wer etheir kids (well hopefully you know what I mean LOL) dont think they had skin kids.

One night I heard the dogs barking at something in the yard, so I went out to investigate. I found a pot bellied pig ! blink.gif It adopted us for a few weeks, but would never stay in the pasture with the goats and cows - it kept getting out. So we decided to just let "Flower" roam free. Last time I saw her, she was headed up our road toward the highway, and wouldn't let me catch her and bring her back home. We'd found her previous owner and he told us he'd had the same problem keeping her fenced in since her mate had died. I miss her a lot, and so does Lillian, but I don't think i'll be buying another one anytime soon.

We've given up on pets until Lillian is old enough to help take care of all the creatures she wants to bring home with her. I thought that goldfish would be a safe pet for her, but she caught all of them within a day or two - now our aquarium is full of nothing but plants.
