I?m doing the webdesign on my own.
But what sites will I need?
I don?t know realy how to explain in english...
If I by the CYGP scripted, do I need to make the design assigned to the script?
I mean for e.g. the links in the Members area, do I have to make them in the webdesign or will they be inserted by the script?
I will need index,members,sign in, advertise,faq,contact pages?
What pages else will I need?
Hope you understand what I?m trying to ask.
Thanks
Christina

So I got a template from a firend of mine.
I?m able to change the Link-Buttons and The text.....can I use that for a PTR?
Is the script something like a Guestbook-script where I for E.g. only put some "text" into the plae where it should apera and then the scripts writes the document in there?
Or does it work in a different way?
Thanks for help, lg

What fileend must the webpages have?
index.htm or index.php?
Where can I get more information at that theme?
So did I understand it:
I only need an index-page....it will be the backgroung of my page, am I right?
The other things are inserted by the script?
What are the header and footer for?
Thanks for help,

In a nutshell, or close to:
Make a copy of your existing header.php, footer.php and index.php files
save to your desktop
open your new template in your HTML editing software of notepad.
make the links in the new template point to the same as in the header, footer and index files you copied from your server. Make sure any special codes at the very top of the header.php, and in footer.php and index php are also in the same (especially those from the header.php) or simialr places in the new template
Find the place in the new template where the content will go, that is, the place where the information will change on every page.
Take all the HTML from ABOVE that place in you template, save it in a new file (notepad is ok) and save it as headerNEW.php.
Take everything from BELOW that and copy and save in a new file as footerNEW.php
Upload all graphics to a folder called images in your www folder or root of your server.
Upload headerNEW.php and footerNEW.php to your server.
Take a deep breath, and rename those to header.php and footer.php on the server
Look at your website. all should have changed!
Make sure that you have a copy of the ORIGINAL header and footer SAVED somewhere away from the other files on your desktop, as you can reupload those if it doesn't work!
When uploading PHP files, make SURE you upload in ASCII mode!
Thats a very basic instruction for doing it.
Any more help, feel free to contact me and I will try to help you more.
