My bank returned to me my Onedollaremail check, as they couldn't cash it. Now I have to give the money back!

Checks coming from Ali Inc are usually ok

Here is OneDollarEmail's answer to my email:

"If your not able to cash it from your bank then please try in Canadian
bank or any International bank were international checks can be cashed"

I will search for an international bank on Monday

Finally I had time to visit my bank; they said that the problem was that the check was in US dollars, but the company's account was Canadian. If it was a check for a US bank account in US dollars, they would be able to cash it.
LOL, too much trouble for just $17.

Sounds fishy to me. I live in Canada and I know that we can open a US bank account at our local banks if we want to and/or have to deal in US dollars. The only valid reason I can think of for this would be if he/she wrote a cheque on the wrong account but that seems strange if they have been sending cheques all along with no problems.

Rhfannn why can't you send check back to ODE and have them pay you via paypal or something?

When I tried to cash OneDollarEmail check, my bank staff noticed that the check was in US dollars, but it was from Canadia & was wondering if he should send the check to Canada or US,but finally sent it to Canada.
it was cleared after about 20 days & money was deposited to my bank account with no problem

I don't think he need to resend the check to them.
I think he can just asked them to cancel the check and resend him the payment by paypal

Ah, I see. I suppose it might be confusing when the account is in Canada but it's US dollars. We do alot of cross border commerce, both on a personal level and a business level, so it's not unique for us to have US bank accounts.

I had a similar problem. I once got a money order from Japan in US Dollar from an Ebay auction and tried to deposit it. The bank I usually deposit it said something about international checks and some other nonsense. I just deposited it with another bank and had no problem.

I get checks from people in Canada all the time in US Dollars drawn on Canadian banks. I never have a problem.

Does OneDollarEmail send check to Latvia ?
