unfortunately, you can't stop them, and if you try to click on their "unsubscribe" button, that just confirms they found a valid email address (to sell or worse). as for blocking, i have been receiving spam emails about where to buy drugs or whatever i wanted. i was going to report them to their ISP, but found that they were "borrowing" email addys from legit companies for the purpose of spamming, and would use a different @... each time, so that would have been a waste of my effort as well.
best thing to do is just be liberal with your 'delete' button
First rule of identifying the source of SPAM/UCE. Do NOT work off the FROM: email addy.
open a free reporting account with spamcop.net.
Report them through there copying the whole email, headers and all. You can do this in Outlook Express by clicking rightmouse on the email and hitting properties, then message source button. 99% of spam comes through proxy/relays.
Also, if you use OE, you can block them using the subject through your message rules.
If you use OE, always make sure that you have it set to view all emails in text format, found in your options under the read tab. Reason I say this is that some emails use the src tags to report back that the email addy is true.
I hope this helps people in this side of things.
Oh, and his accounts been closed
