I was told by another site owner that someone named Ian had written a utility to export the data from a CAC GPTR site.

If anyone knows of such a utility, I would be interested in getting some information and possibly paying for the utility so that I can export all of the CAC members and then import them into a better software system.

I had suggested to my members that I was switching software and was I might need them to sign up again and have gotten some negative feedback; however, I do not have the time to learn perl or perl knowledge to figure out how to transfer the text files that the membership data is stored in into a real database.

Thank you,
Patricia

What scripts were you looking to change to?

Hi...you might want to check with Jeannine, owner of Income-Email....I believe she may have this too! aa.gif

Not knowing about the other scripts out there, my husband wrote one for me. My husband wrote it in the begining of December and I have been testing and refining it since then.

While some of you might be scared by that thought, he has 20 years of database accounting system design and programming experience, and while we would be interested in helpful suggestions and tips, we would like you to reserve passing judgement until after you see it working.

This software uses PHP and a MySQL database and is built as a PostNuke module.

Hey if it works it works, but yes as surfingtoearn mentioned I have a utility that I can adjust to suit the scripts your husband setup and match his mysql table to enter information. It isn't very pretty but it works.

Sounds good. Could you PM me with details on what you are interested in getting in exchange for your assistance?
