I just got a letter from the doc that gave me the letter to get my financial aid for college. $145.00, Medicare only picked up $44.00! I owe them $101.00.



A friend of mine was going to help me with this bill, and with my phsycologist bill (owe her $100.00), but the new company that took over his company has been messing around with their paychecks, and he isn't able to help me, plus his commissions have been down, so he really couldn't help out at this time anyway. I'm not going back to the phsycologist until I can pay her.

Astounded at the cost of medicare to the recipient. I've always gone to a medicaid provider but my medicaid provider wouldn't write a letter for me, because I had to see a phsychiatrist for it. Retirees get medicare (as do those of us on permanent disability), and it's so not right they have to pay such high bills, especially since a lot of them don't earn enough to live on.

Just wanted to gripe. Not gonna worry about it; hopefully before it hits my TRW I'll be able to pay it. My credit has just been getting cleaned up, all the debt I acrewed when I got disability has fallen off. This is my main concern--keeping my financial record clean, because of things I'm going to have to purchase later, like a car and an apt when I can afford it. Besides, I really hate oweing money. Feels really crummy to me.

That's an awfully high bill for a letter. Sheesh. Expecially for a letter for financial aid. My docs don't charge for letters. They charge for disability paperwork, but not for letters. BTW, did the letter help?

yes, it did. I'm officially enrolled now. Just waiting for the MRS to get cracking and contribute their share, and begin sending me checks for gas. I had an agreement with them to send me 25.00 a week for gas, which will help out tremendously. My worker hasn't returned any of my phonecalls, I called her again yesturday to leave a message with her. Hopefully she'll respond or just get the paperwork done, so at least i'll have money for gas. These past few months having to pay over $100.00 a month for gasoline have been killing me; I don't have $100.00 to spare for that. My car needs some serious work, too. Don't know what's wrong with it. When it's cold the rpm's rev up very high and I'm barely moving. Does that all the way to Madonna, so the warming up doesn't help it at all. I'm trying to be careful not to rev it past 3, because I don't want to burn the engine out. It does gain some speed by the time I hit the freeway without putting a big strain, but I'm still moving slower than the rest of the traffic at times, because i have to lay off the gas so it doesn't rev up so high. My cousin tuned it for me, so it's not a tuneup issue.

Well, that some good news at least. Glad to hear that got taken care of. Hope that gas money comes through quickly. Will keep on praying for that.
