I am a new webmaster, altho not new to the internet and the GPTR sites. I am very curious how "hackers" can get into anyones system and if they do, how do they get to the back up files that webmasters are supposed to keep? My accounts in 5 different paid to read email sites are now missing and I have spent alot of time, effort and money to get all the referrals and build up my cash in these accounts for them to mysteriously disappear without a trace. I have given the webmasters of these sites about a week to get themselves and the site together before I emailed them and when I did, only 1 of them has emailed me back with any support, and one, you have to sign up before you can get to the contace page. This is very disconcerting to me, I realize that things like this can be devastating to the webmaster, but then again, that is the responsibility that they took on becoming a webmaster right? I almost got the feeling that yeah, maybe one site got hacked, oh my gosh... then two, wow. Twenty or more sites got hacked. I'm starting to think that maybe all of those sites did not get hacked the one that did is a smoke screen for some sites to start over. Now, I am not accusing anyone, but I am not recieving answers to my questions and in a world of cheater, hackers, spammers and liars, what else am I to believe? The GPT industry is already going downhill and this my friends is the push it needed to fly down that hill. (I am open to explanations or people telling me I am full of it.. but I just need somekind of response from someone.)

Ummmm... I have 4 that got hacked. I have 3 back up. Please don't suggest if you don't know what's been going on.

I don't know what is going on.. That is why I post!!!! I am asking for explanations, since I don't get reply emails, I suggest and maybe they prove me wrong. I hope they DO! And when you say you have 4 that have been hacked and 3 back up? Are your downlines in tact? Is all your money back in?

Hi Members
This is the last email for quite some days, somebody guessed my password and went to all the programs I have promoted and unsubscribed me, by now I lost almost all my downlines I have only 15 left. so i have to use the next days to try to be reinstated in these programs or I will not be able to pay the money I owe to the members of my program. By now I have got my downlines back in two programs:
http://www.hippie-chicks.com/   and
http://www.CentsablEmail.com/
Thanks to Ron and Amber for quick response (within the hour), if every webmaster are like them I will be back sometime next week. It depends on hoe long time I have to use to change my passwords I need to have a single uniq password for every single program to avoid this from happening again. TO THE PERSON THAT DID THIS I HOPE YOU BURN IN ###### OR WILL BE REINKARNATED AS SOME UGLY LITTLE INSECT. I really hope I get most back, to people who yell scam and and.... I'll say until now this have cost me netto  around  $300.
SORRY for this

Ok, I'll admit... when I read your post my temper got the best of me and I didn't think it out before I replied. It's all over the forum what's been happening. It's been all over the forum for two weeks. Perhaps reading before suggesting would help clear things up.

Around 40, if not more, programs were hacked thru different servers. Some of these webmasters CAN'T answer emails.

Luckily in the three that are back up, most of my database is intact. One I lost entirely and it's devasting. All of us involved are very emotional about it. Please excuse me if I sound harsh.

EMailCashFrenzy means her sites(not her ptre accounts) were hacked.
Maybe that is why you didn't get any reply from many webmaster
Webmasters have been busy with the hacker...
Shelly
or if their sites were totally devasted they didn't get the emails.

But playing the devils advocate here there are several webmasters who could have come here and posted and let us know that did NOT.....So I understand why she is wondering who might be just taking advantage of the situation and running....Just my buck fifty

Yeah i think I'm worth more than .002 cents...Hi Ron I see you reading....I got your email ab.gif

Ok. Let me just express. I do not know what is going on. I joined this forum today to get some insight. I just want some answers. I have not been sending any paid emails and I have pretty much deleted all my banners in my get paid to click section until I can get some answers. This is not fair to my members, but I refuse to spend more money on advertising sites that seem to go down the next day. Sorry Guys, if any of my members are reading this, but I have new plans for the site as well.

Yes I noticed it that there are not so many banners in the paid to click section ah.gif ah.gif ar.gif

I was clicking them every day because if you need $10 on own earnings to be able to get the cashout, then you have to click all the banners every day ac.gif ac.gif ac.gif ac.gif

Can that amount not be lowered????? Because when I reach the $10 on own earnings I will have probably more then $75 in my account ai.gif ai.gif ac.gif ak.gif av.gif

Thanks for clarifying that for me ppprk. And yes, I agree with you Shelly... some of the more dishonest webmasters could be taking advantage of the situation. Sad but true.

Again, my apologies Total-Email. I'm taking this whole situation more personally than I should be, but it ain't been fun! Best of luck with your program, I've seen some good comments on it in this forum.

well she will forgive you, I am sure aa.gif

I mean it has been hard for you lately, so it is understandable that you reacted that way.

It is a hard time for all of us I guess, accounts being hacked, sites being hacked, E-gold accounts being robbed etc etc etc,

This is not funny anymore ah.gif ah.gif ah.gif

Could you please elaborate this claim? I haven't heard about this before. Perhaps post an offical report on it. I wouldn't suprise me if it was true, but its the first that I've heard about this. Also is this comment in refrence to it's built in firewall (also called the crappy program that doesn't block anything and sends information to microsoft all the time program ab.gif), or is it something else? Please elaborate for me.

Thanks.....I had 2 sites that got hacked.....Yes I did lose the data base at Cash Wage.....but am doing everything I can to make it up....I have spent alot of my own money to send out ads...to get refeerrals to give back to my members.....and did everything I could to do what I could to notify members...

E-mail Value was also hacked....the database in tact...however when we resotre back up the downlines were in tact by the earnings were messed up but Cynthia is working VERY VERY hard to get it all figured out.

I do happend to know a few webmasters who did Lose thier databases who are TOTALLY Devestated.....and have no idea what to do....they are scared of the response.....I can relate......When I realized the back up for CW was No good......well......When I started posting the relauch.....I tensed up everytime I checked my email just waiting to be pounced on.....

Thankfully I have great members......who are very understanding.....give some of these webmasters a little slack...everyone is differnt...not everyone can bounce back the same......

Lets just hope it never happens again aa.gif

Here's an article about XP's security problems:

The latest operating system from Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) is winning praise for its stability and functionality, but the complexity of Windows XP continues to worry security experts, who say its integration with the Internet could mean trouble.

Thank you moneywithinternet and pia for the info, I greatly appreciate it.

My thoughts exactly!

One of the problems with XP is that file-sharing is set by default (which means your pc can be accessed remotely). Click on my computer, properties, remote and make sure remote assistance is not checked. I also have it set so that "automatic updates" have to notify me before downloading and again before installing. You should also be making regular visits to http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp which will give you the latest updates and security patches for windows.

Don't know if this is the same for everyone but in my control panel I have a folder for Network Connections. Inside it shows my connection. Under properties, advanced I can check "limit or prevent access to this computer from the internet".

ASM, I was just reading this out to my fiance, he says that IS the firewall...so you're not safe that way. The XP firewall sux lol...it's vulnerable. By turning it off, you're actually more safe.

D/L Black Ice.....wonderful firewall protection.

thanks sooozie. Didn't know that was a firewall, didn't know XP even had a built in one. I'll have to check out some info on it.

It seems cashem webmaster has the same problem ah.gif

Hello everyone.

It seems as though there is a real jerk running around the internet these days.

I am a member of every paid to read company out there and this jerk is running around canceling me from all these programs.

I would ask all webmasters to please email me at imoney@cashem.com, so that I might be able to get my accounts back.

I would also strongly advise everyone to make sure that you have a different password for each program.

This is very upsetting and I hope that this would never happen to you. So be very careful.

Thank you for your time.
