We went out to dinner tonight. We were tired and just didn't feel like cooking. We were seated in a large booth - the three children on one side and my hubby and I on the other. The waiter brought our drinks - and dumped my glass of tea on my 11 year old daughter. I must say she handled it very well. Bless her heart, her eyes got as big as saucers, and she kind of gulped, but she stayed very calm and didn't over react, and was very dignified about the whole thing. Of course, the waiter was soooooo apologetic. We just kind of laughed and helped her dry off. THe poor waiter was so upset. I think he was expecting us to yell at him.

I have seen people act soooooooooo awful when something like that happen. I actually saw a man scream at a waitress one time for spilling something. Sheesh. People are just human. We just told her that accidents happen all the time and if the situation was reversed, she wouldn't want anybody to treat her badly. We told her we were proud of her for not yelling or acting a fool, and for keeping her cool. You know, you always wonder how kids will react, I think she did very well. Of course, we couldn't help teasing her a little - we kept asking her if she wanted some more tea. tongue.gif

Awww, poor thing. tongue.gif

I agree that she handled it very well though. I don't understand the way some people treat waiters/waitresses sometimes over silly stuff. Food/drinks will get spilled @ times, and news flash it's not the server's fault if the food's prepared wrong. laugh.gif

You must be doing a splendid job raising her. wink.gif
