don't panic yet - seems illogical that they deleted both accounts on the same day

also i noticed that when i tried to login i get MySQL errors so they may be having database troubles more than anything

i hope that you are downloading a backup of your subscriber base daily

and if i may suggest, you might want to upload that backup to http://yahoogroups.com which IMHO is a far superior mailing list script than yourmailinglistprovider which limits you to 2 messages per day which is no good at all with the amount of NPA's coming out each day

i'm waiting for yahoo to upload the yourmailinglistprovider with my yahoogroups list because of this and once that is done, i'll delete my account there

in any event i would strongly recommend setting up a group at yahoogroups and upload your yourmailinglistprovider list there so that if and when this does happen again you have the ability to continue mailing your subscribers

well when you do get back in, make sure to get a backup asap

And you can send more than 2 mails per day?? I can't ah.gif everytime I've tried, I get an error message telling me, something like: "You've sent your max messages, you can send your next message: (date) (time)." It's very aggravating.

Hey Mo in my opinion I would switch to Yahoo Groups.
It's way faster than YMLP.

Sometimes I had problems loging into YMLP. ah.gif

For my private npa list, I just use outlook express, and I know other people who do also.
You just make a "group" in your address book (add your npa subscribers to that particular group), and when you send, you put the name of the group in the bcc field.
No muss, no fuss!

Cathy, sounds like a viable solution but what happens when you get a spam complaint?

And I just got this reply from the webmaster:

Hi,

We've had a harddisk failure.
The problem has been fixed now and all data has been recovered.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

How often can I send messages?

Until the end of december 2001, members could only send one message per day. This was a safety measure, to block malicious users of YMLP.

However, there was one big problem: if there was a mistake in a message, you had to wait 24 hours to send a corrections...
That's why members are allowed to send two messages per day from the 1st of January 2002.
