All of a sudden, my oe won't download my email from my server. I'm not having any other problems with my internet. My email is in my server inbox, but is hard to read there due to timeouts, etc. The error message in OE says The connection to the server has failed. It was working just fine last night. Won't work today. Any suggestions? I tried restarting my computer a couple of times. No change.

I don't think so, unless they installed it when they fixed my computer last week.

So, if I understand it correctly, you do receive email on the webserver but it doesn't download to your machine? Hmmmm.. that could be a server problem. I sometimes get that as well. My email client (Mozilla) is set to retrieve email every 15 minutes, but today I didn't get any untill 3 p.m. and then it suddenly downloaded (woops!!) 254 emails ohmy.gif blink.gif

From what I hear, SP2 has some "side-effects". That's why I asked. smile.gif

I knew there were problems with SP2 so I had not downloaded it on purpose. So, hopefully, the repair folks didn't either. I'll try to look and see if it is there. I didn't see it when I was cleaning out trojans a couple of days ago. wink.gif

I vote server problems - you might want to open an online email account that can pull from POP3 accounts and set it up and see if you get the same timeout error.

There are currently no known issues with SP2 for XP and MS Outlook.
