I want to put up a page at my friend's server that lists all the attacked sites.

I know that we are all getting loads of mails from members wanting to know where their accounts are.

The way things are looking, it may be days and days before things are back to normal.

I want to make a page that the sites that are still operating can direct members to, and also the forums can post a link to it.

Members who can't log in to their accounts can check the list first before bombarding the webmasters with mail.

Also, although this is not necessary to add to the list, it may be helpful to establish some sort of pattern if you will state what scripts the affected sites are running, and where they are hosted.

To help out the affected sites, I will add a banner to my banner exchange for each affected site, it doesn't have to be for your site, it can be anything legal and g-rated. These banners will run until we are back in business.

One last thing, should I put on the page that this is the result of an attacker, or should I say "technical difficulties"?

Cathy ,

Would still waiting for script upgrades count ?

LOL
Lexie, your site hasn't been attacked by whoever is doing this, but I'll do a banner for you just because you are active in my forum.

But Lexie, of course I can add a little note somewhere that you are waiting for the scripts.

*blush* Yeah I know and no banner needed . That's sweet though .

I just sorta feel that though no I haven't been attacked , I have to wait longer for the upgrades due to the pending repairs of the programs that have been attacked . Make any sense ?

I'm afraid that this situation probably will slow the progress on your scripts.
Poor John is getting very little rest. He's getting more and more behind on the "routine" stuff.

I've got the page made and the list of sites begun.
Now I just have to find my server friend to get the page uploaded.
We'll update the list as we get more site names.
Keep posting.
And thanks for your co-operation!

Stick freeads on the list. Also their program QuickMLM. Got this the other day as reply to some ad copy I had sent them:

database was deleted by I don't know who over the weekend while
I wasn't here and I just contacted the hosting company. They
should have a backup.

Site comes up, but going to login page results in "Unable to select datdabase"

Same with http://quickmlm.getpaidscripts.com

I did invite Driss to visit this thread.

No, when people restore the backup, it disappears again.
And right now, John has disabled all the c-panels, so anyone hosted at mec can't try anyhow.

I feel so....HOMELESS.......

freeandeasy
The page is up.

Keep posting new sites that you find out have been attacked so I can keep the list updated.

The banner offer is still good; affected sites are not able to sell any advertising right now, and that hurts. So send banners that will help you recoup a few losses.

To those of you who are still in action, PLEASE give your members a link to the page. (Those of us who are not able to contact our members are frantic!)

A very brief explanation is all that is needed, something like, "If you can't log in to your accounts at some of the other programs, please check this page before you email support".

Also, those of you who hang out at other forums, please post a link to the page at those.

Here is the link:

Elite Email and LetterWealth are down too. Just asked Cynthia and she said LW was fine last night... ah.gif
freeandeasy
Thanks for adding the links, EMailCashFrenzy!
I added 3 more sites to the list (I think CashPO was hit by a different hacker, but nevertheless, they WERE hacked)

Can you confirm that Elite Email and LetterWealth were actually attacked?

Can somebody find out for sure if MentalEmails is also a victim?
EMailCashFrenzy
Cynthia says Adult LetterWealth is also gone. She's not confirming or denying hacker just yet.
EMailCashFrenzy
Add Dutch Emails *sigh*
freeandeasy
I've got 27 on the list so far.

I'm going offline for a few hours, keep posting updates and I'll check in when I get home.

Mental is back online. They must have gone to backup as earnings/refs are not what they used to be. Have not received a reply to my email-may be lost in the "pile"

DutchEmails came up fine for me-everything appears normal there.

Hiya gang,

I'm the owner of MentalMails,

If you hang out at cashglow, you probably know me as FunDMental.

According to my friends at Lucidity hosting, This is more of a bug in the Cpanel software than a hacker.
I just spoke with lucidity again, and although my dbs are back up, and seem to be stable for the time being, we won't know for sure if they have the bug squashed till tonight.
I've been backing up my member dbs everyhalf hour, and filling s folder on my hard drive with them lol.

We were able to restore the dbs late sunday night only losing 30 members or so ah.gif , But monday, it all fell apart again.

If you're a member of MentalMails, Your info is safely stored locally on my hard drive till I can be sure it won't disappear again.

Now back to the stack of angry member emails.

Thanks for the concerns wantum!

YW Rich! Glad to hear we be OK!
FunDMental
Well spoke too soon I guess,

Just as things were starting to look good.
Everything went bye-bye again!

Thank goodness for backups!

I guess you may as well add MentalEmails to the growing list.
ao.gif

We'll keep plugging away at this mess.
Stay positive gang!

When it looks really bad, just repeat these words,

This Too Shall Pass.

Stay mental!

COOL!!! ad.gif

Bitzy sent me my new c-panel password, but I have no word on when I will be back up. ak.gif

And (my ignorance is showing), I don't know how to upload my database.

How many times have I mentioned...I am not very technical....
ai.gif
EMailCashFrenzy
Technical just ain't my middle name either. I've learned so much thru all this mess. First off, I was doing my backups (except for ECF cuz it's not MEC scripts) thru the admin area. Cynthia told me from now on to do them thru the cpanel so they can be easily uploaded. Secondly, I've learned that copying the backups to disk and deleting them off my hard drive wasn't as safe as I thought I was being. From now on I'll copy them to a CD and keep another one somewhere too. That way if one is messed up I'll have another one to fall back on. Learned too much too late but hopefully this will never ever be an issue for any of us again.

Just wanted to let everyone know that our site was hacked and that is
why it has been offline for over a week.  Luckily all the files were
saved.  We might transfer hosts so as not to ever have this happen again,
so we might be offline for a couple of days to transfer things.  Please
bear with us.  Thank you for your patience.
