Is it normal for a paid to read site to demand a scan of my drivers license + a scam of something to confirm my address ??

a site de activated my account and demanded that when i sent them an email

reason: people from the same country in my downline with same ip grrr

some webmasters are plain dumb when it comes to ips

i have dialup
and quite possibly people from my country signed up under me as i advertised on a site directed at only my country ( new zealand )

SO my question, Is this normal??

i was about $1 from payout and clicked every link and had a reasonable downline as well

I personally would NOT send a copy of ANYTHING to a GPTR program.

Not worth the trouble and possible "rip off" factor.

I would quit any program who asked me for such info.

If you are NOT getting paid by check (mailed to you)...then there is no reason at all for any program to have your mailing street address.

And don't ever give any of them your social security number either.
They have no need for it.

What is the site? Let us know.

i havnt gotten a reply to the lat email i sent them about 2 weeks ago :/

actually a couple of sites are adopting that policy now as a way of discouraging cheaters. If someone suspects foul play, they'll ask you for that info...dont send them a scan of your DL if youre uncomfy but scan something that prooves youre who you say you are and then you shouldnt have any probs. If you feel uncomfy--well,say so long to the money and move on.

I'm surprised you haven't got a response.
Maybe you should email her again, Jeannie is a very good webmaster.

I don't think you will hear from Kiwinz to answer your curious minds on this issue. ah.gif

You just won't let things go, will you??

If you get slammed for that comment, you deserve it!!

No, just saying that because I did not knew he was until recently. Just don't know why since I have him on ignore.

Why do people think I am doing this to bash him when I am not? I am stating a fact that he can't finish the updates on this post for others if he resolves the problem or not.

kiwinz... I explained the situation to you in detail. I'm not asking for your drivers license number or anything other than proof of age and address. Your account says Austrailia and my TOS reads you must be 18 years of age. All I've asked for is proof of this information and I'll reinstate your account. Being a program owner yourself I'd think you'd appreciate where I'm coming from in trying to protect my program and myself. I've answered your emails, I see no reason to keep telling you the same thing over and over again.

Well cant you get parent's permission? I'm in alot of GPTRE programs where you have to be 18 or older. I just ask my parents if could sign up.

There is a perfectly good reason for your address!

and thats to prevent/identify cheating ... some members think that they get more emails if they are signed up under the country USA/Canada/UK etc

Personally I wont pay members at TheMailCLub unless they have filled in the correct info ... if I paid just an email address it could be one person I am paying MANY times.

I would not want to give my address or anything either. I am very leary if I signed up for a program with a dishonest webmaster.

ao.gif Opened your eyes to? Hackers have been around forever. The thought just now occured to ya? lol Poncer one does not need to hack a gptr program to get info on you! ah.gif

I usually keep my private info private. Why? My dad wants to keep our address and phone number private because it is unlisted, and would not appear in phone books or data. We had our number listed, and got way too many prank calls that freaked my mother out big time. ao.gif

If all that is needed is age verification and country, could you just black out the ID number and street address??

Also, there are programs( and I won't name them ai.gif hehe) that only accept signups from certain countries. The first payment is always sent by check, no matter how you request it. That proves you are who you say you are and you live where you say you live. Cheaters just won't get paid.

I don't think so!!! ai.gif

No, I think we all need to think about this somewhat. Should we all be safe, or should we all be sorry? I think safety is the keyword. Before giving out your info, we should into the programs owners if there are complaints and all that.

I always think about something like giving out info BEFORE hand. There are alot of places online I won't bother with like chat rooms, since lord only knows WHO or WHAT you are talking to. You have to be careful, but you have to have a life too ac.gif

Questions.
1. Do you do this with every single member?
a. If not why do you do it with him.

Sorry buy your reasons aren't reasonable. Were talking a age 18 limit. If your concern and wanted to vertify this your going to get information that can be used for fraud usage.

You got his address, you could send off a snail mail and ask him to take it to his court house or what ever they have to verify thats were he lives and his age.

Then no further info that can be used for fraud will be released.

Their are big bucks on passport, birth certificates. Highteck copiers can make forgeries that only experts can spot.
Myself I wouldn't sent you copies of anything.
mdegryse
Or do like omnipay

postal adres verification

they send a letter to my postal adres with a confirmation code (cost 3.8$ to belgium)

And now is my account validated and I didn't used them for the moment.

Actually, since you have no idea about the emails that were sent back and forth between kiwinz and myself and since you have no idea what led to this being an issue I won't answer your questions as what brought it about helps me to protect my program. Kiwinz had questions, they were answered... nuf said. But thanks for caring.

i think Jeannie is justified to ask for this info and if kiwi has nothing to hide, this should be a breeze.

personally if i owned a prog and sensed foul play---not that this is the case here,i would ask for proof.
