Greetings,

I understand what banner impressions are. What I need to know is how it/they work.
As I understand it, I have to have a website where the 'picture' of the banner is located. The html code has my referral url (gotten from the ptr site) in it and clicks on the banner take the person to the site with me being the referral.
So I have to have somewhere to host the banner first? I have a website at Geocities...can I put the banner on a page there and have it work? What happens if a lot of people click on the banner?
Just trying to get all this figured out.

If it's a free site I doubt it. Because linking to a banner costs bandwidth most free sites and/or some low cost sites will not allow it.

It will come up with an error message like "this site has exceeded its maximum bandwidth" unless you have enough bandwidth, then it doesn't matter how many people click on it. The more the better I say.

Thanks for answering. So what do I do about banner impressions? I have won banner impressions at a site. I would like to promote one of my PTR sites. How can I go about it, if I can't use Geocities for the banner?

You have 2 options for your question.

1) If the program permits, you can link the image banner directly from the host of the program that you want to promote.

2) You host your banner on a paid webhosting. If you click on my sig below you can find a good webhosting with a great service that you can pay for and that you can be paid to use it!
