JMHO (not intended to bash ANYONE, at all):
Disturbing? Of course. Offensive? Perhaps. Shouldn't they be? People are killed everyday no matter who/what/where/why they are all over the globe. Truer yet, we have become so desensitized that it takes something like these photos to give us all a big kick in the boot, take a step back and say no, this isn't right, how can I help. That COULD be your child, that's the point, at least that's what I got out of it. I was born in Canada, have lived in South America, Africa, Europe, and have finally landed here in the US to raise my children, and of course at some point want to do the full circle and move back home to Canada. Geography is of little importance. Today my kids are tucked snug in their beds and safe...not wanting to start school tomorrow. I can't say that tomorrow will offer them the same comforts, I don't think anyone can. To reach out in any way, be it a forum like this one, a newscast, an article in the local paper, isn't criminal, it's mandatory if we have any chance of peace anywhere in the future. These are children without political agenda, country affiliations or otherwise, they were probably just kids that really didn't want to start school either. I hardly think we can afford the luxury of being offended and looking away. I think we should instead be offended and screaming-at the top of our lungs-this has to stop now. True enough, if might not help matters, but like I said, I have kids. I wouldn't have stopped for a minute had I seen the banner and NOT been both disturbed and offended. I did and I was. I hope I can help a *tiny* bit is all I can say, and thank you for putting my night in perspective.
Again, just me (albeit Canadian raised peace loving, violence solving nothing, not ever) opinion.
Thanks again (&again

)
Beth
