Okay all...I feel like I'm at the end of my rope....

My youngest has been going through the terrible two stage for about 9 months now...I never had to go through this with my oldest child, so this, let's just say is harder than anything I've had to do in my life....

Anybody got a clue as to how long this stage lasts? Also, potty training...oh my gosh I don't think we'll ever get out of diapers....My first one went straight to the potty and out of diapers instantly....this one, however, seems to enjoy diapers just a little too much...the biggest problem I have is that she goes to daycare part-time during the morning and doesn't have one problem going to bathroom. But when she gets home, never goes to the bathroom....

Anybody got any ideas....With all the money we've thrown away in diapers, I feel like I should own one of the companies.....

edited to add: don't force the potty training, it'll just backfire and turn into a power struggle. You may have to back off and completely ignore it for a little whle at home and let your chld reinitiate it. Mine were REALLY stubborn. Almost 4 before they got it down. smile.gif

Thanks for the links....I'm going to check them out right now.....I definately should own the companies if I have to wait to "4". It's just hard, because the first one was so easy....

Yes, she's just like me so it will be a power struggle....That's the problem with being hardheaded and stubborn....

Many THANKS! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

I feel for you. In my child's case the terrible two's were followed by the terrifying three's, the frigthening four's and now we're in the frustrating fives.

Yes, I'm going insane from all of this, but I have been since she learned the word "No".

ROFL - I think we all posted up there at the same time. laugh.gif

My daughter started the terrible two's at a year old. Now we're on "it's all about

ME" sixteen. For her 16th birthday present, she wanted a new car. I told her

to get a job and start saving. lol

My son will be 5 next week. I'm having the same problems with toliet training. He

goes at school, wears undies, but not much at home. He won't have a bm in the

toliet either. But he has PDD-NOS, (form of autism). There's been a lot of changes

this year in school and daddy is out to sea, so he is regressing a bit.

You could try putting him/her in underwear. Sooner or later they get tired of being

wet. That's how the school got my son to start going on the potty. Every so many

minutes, bring him/her to potty. Make a schedule. It's a lot of laundry and messes

to clean up, but it works. Use a reward chart and stickers or just stickers. Don't

push it too hard.

My mom laughs at me too. She cursed me when I was pregnant with my daughter.

She said "I hope she's as much of a little sh*t as you were." She's worse than I

was. lol And darling son is just as bad if not worse than her at the same age. blink.gif

Ah yes, the dreaded stucktotheearitis. There isn't a cure for it. It then turns into

AIMITIS and GETOFFTHED.A.M.N.COMPUTERITIS. laugh.gif

I'm on the same train here *sigh* unsure.gif

My daughter is 2yrs 4months... and we're having some real battles here nowadays. Her favorite hobby is throwing things at mommy blink.gif And teasing the dog ohmy.gif

And we've been busy with potty training all summer. But we haven't been home much... so I haven't really tackled the issue with full force yet. She can do it perfectly well when she wants to (both #1 and #2). But most days she still wants her diaper rolleyes.gif

If you ask me, motherhood should come with a package with 10x more patience than what you used to have rolleyes.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

Check out the links roadrunner addeded up top, I checked them out last night. The charmin link is interesting....

I'm right there with you....the little one has gone to the potty tons of times (even #2 all by herself, without telling anyone). That's why daddy's so upset, cause if she did it once, then she knows when she has to go. But it's hit or miss. She gets so upset each morning when sissy puts on big girl underwear, she wants to too. I keep telling her, that if she will start going to the potty and not in her diaper then she can use the big girl underwear, of course, hoping this we persuade her. Unfortunately not....

Also, her favorite pastime is beating up on her big sissy....has busted her lip, kicks, bites, pinches, hits. Oh, and this was a beauty, got a sharp knife and was stabbing her in the feet. Less we not forget she loves to be naked and run around singing "NAKED BABY, NAKED BABY". The ultimate was when she mooned her great grandfather....? blink.gif

She is 2 yrs and 8 months....and I feel like I'm going to lose it anyday. Went to bed last night and she had taken all her clothes off including the diaper and laying on top of the covers naked.....I guess when she grows up she'll be my stripper!!!

My oldest, a boy who is 3 years 4 months, has been perfectly capable of going pee in the toilet since he was about 2 1/2 years old. He just refuses to!!! Arghhhh...

Bring him to a store - he's gotta go. Put him in a room with older kids who want to use the potty - he's gotta go... Anywhere else - Nope! I've done it all: The special 'gift potty' which got him excited all of one day. The sticker rewards - which don't do anything anymore. I've even gone to bribery - he received a new matchbox car after going potty three times. I've started using the new Pampers Feel&Learn diapers - they seem to be doing something because ever time I go to change him I get "I don't want that diaper - I want that diaper (the other two babes)" NOPE!!! My last resort is going to be underware (which by the way he picked out - Nemo and Thomas the Tank - and was excited about for one day) and water proofing as much as I can in my house!!!

My middle child, a girl who is just about to turn two (and already thinks she's 13), is more likly to train before him... She at least asks to go potty everyonce in a while - and about 50% of the time goes when she asks, the other times she goes as soon as she stands up! Ha Ha... Problem is if I ask her to go potty - she refuses and then won't do it on her own for days. Oh Well.

Well, I guess with all that said - I don't have any real advice... other than I do feel for you and wish you the best of luck. If you come up with anything that works let me know.

I feel your pain!!! biggrin.gif My 3 yo has just decided that now she won't ask to go to the toilet after being really good with going to the toilet. So I put her back in nappies(diapers). When she does number 2's I make her sit until I am good and ready to change her, about 10 mins, and then I make HER clean herself which she isn't too happy about and sometimes gets a bit messy.

It is just Spring here so I think maybe it is too much hard work on her part to pull down her tracksuit pants and then her PullUps and climb on a cold toilet seat or potty. Hey i don't like sitting on a cold toilet either...lol....I think once it warms up a bit she will go back into her "big girl" knickies as she calls them and start using the toilet and potty by herself. A lot of people I have spoken to have said they had similar problems with toilet training.
roadrunner
I feel all your pains - I've been there and done that 3 times. Mine are now 7, 11, and 13. Yes - they do eventually get potty trained - in their own good time, and before they start school. I fought with my hubby over - "if you keep making a big issue of it, they're gonna keep going in their pants because they like to watch your face turn purple and see that vein pop out over your eye." I think they enjoyed having fresh sheets every day. LOL. Seriously, they get it in their own time. Sometimes you just have to let it go for a month or two, put 'em back in diapers, and completely ignore it for awhile - they'll actually come to you and ASK to go to the potty. Good luck guys - mine are all in real underwear now. The 13 year old has even given up the cartoon figures now - and he'd kill me if he knew I'd written that. laugh.gif

She'll get over it - I still have to tuck in the 7, 11, and 13 year olds. Well, actually, I have to tuck in the 7 year old and the 11 year old, and "check on" the 13 year old and turn his ceiling fan on for him. LOL. Close enough, I guess.
