I know it looks cruel but sometimes it has to be done. My mom found a stray persian, the cats fur was so matted that the vets gave her that exact same haircut. I was in the room when the vets did it, and it doesn't hurt the cat
Angel ( the cats name ) wasn't impressed for the first few days, but she got over it and liked the fact that she could actually feel it when someone pet her.
