This site that hosts a lot of e-gold games.
I heard a few complaints from people who hosted games at this site and from people who invested in games hosted on this site.
Is it a scam or not?

Well, My vote is YES, they are a scam. I've invested in 3 programs hosted by them. 2 of them paid for awhile then went away, the 3rd never paid at all.
They say they have the reserve fund for these type of programs hosted by them, BUT how do you contact them? There is an email address listed on their site, but where the emails go, I don't know.
They don't answer and they don't give you your invest amount back.
I will not invest with any site hosted by them again.

They probably did something to your game's URL so that all the money goes to them. E-gold games aren't secure, it's really easy to modify them. Not that I've ever tried

Most of those games are very similar - they are based on the same autopay scripts.
All you have to do is buy such script, decide how much do you want to pay daily to your members, add a catchy name and at least a bit of text to it and go. And I do not think those can be called "e-gold games" because you don't win money there, but earn.
Most of those "games" have a very primitive website, with a deposit form as the main feature. I am preparing my own e-gold game right now and I would have never release something that looks like a rough sketch of the site. The technical side of may site is ready now, all the accounts are up, hosting account, mirrors, domains but It will take me a couple of weeks to finish the website design.
Creating a good website takes time so if someone didn't want to, let's say, waste too much time doing it it may mean that he/she plans to abandon it in a short time.

If any of you do choose to play E-gold games, choose one that is reliable and have been around for a long time.
Most people are lured to programs/services/games due to the fact they're NEW. The older, the safer.

Bite my tongue.
I've just heard from egoldhost on Valhall gold which has "gone away". They are paying members their balance from the reserve fund.
