What kind of script is it and does your hosting package allow SQL's?
GeorgieB
The Script Requirements

1) Php
2) MySQL
3) MySQL Dump
4) Control Panel is preferred

And my host has all

I am unsure of the script name it just says paidmail.....it was a paid redeption from an ads only site Tigersads....

sounds like you have the same script as I do. just called paidmail and everything is default to www.yoursite.com

right?

and the only instructions included are the ones to change a few php files.
GeorgieB
Yup same one
pilkojr
what do you need help with in particular?

I installed my script myself, and I know nothing about PTR scripts up till now.
GeorgieB
Well I have no idea how to install any script period...LOL I have a freind doing it now but I would still like to learn how is there a course or document that could help teach me how to do it.

This one is really easy to install. You should have a file that ends with .sql that will be the database file. Upload all the files to you host, then go into mysql (phpmyadmin) create a username & password and a database name. Then go into phpmyadmin (should be a link at the bottom of the page), find the tab that says SQL. Click the button under the textbox next to the input field that says browse. Locate the file with the sql extension and open it. This will install your database. Next step is to set up the configuration file. You will need to include your mysql host (localhost), database username, password and the name of the database. The next thing you should do is to lockdown the admin section, this can be done directly through your cpanel. Find the image/text that says something like protect directories. Follow the directions and your done.

I have what started out as a paidmail script at one of my sites, I've made alot of modifications and customizations too it. I also can tell you how to fix some security holes if you like.

Line 5 is the;

paidmail/includes/vars_arrays.php");

Have you modified the vars_arrays.php file to suit the new site yet?

edit: It's not the vars_arrays.php you need to edit. looks like the global.php file is still set as default. have you modified the global.php yet?

That looks like it is from a prevous install (someone just gave you a copy of there scripts) you need to change this to YOUR site, at most hosts this would be your username.

If you would like you can contact me via msn messenger and we can talk about it, and I can show you some examples and some of the customizations I have made.
pilkojr
