IT IS MALWARE YOU NEED TO GO GET THE FREE DOWNLOAD AD-AWARE TO GET RID OF IT AS IT HIDES IN YOUR REGISTRY. AD-AWARE WILL TAKE IT OFF - IF YOU HAVE THIS ON YOUR COMPUTER YOU PROBABLY HAVE MEGA SPYWARE TOO. GOOD FREE PROGRAM TO GET RID OF IT IS SPY-BOT

I had that happen too with that and other search engines. Just go to their website and look for the uninstall page thats the best way to get rid of it and also change your settings on your puter so that it doesnt download things automatically

On Internet Explorer go to
Tools
Internet Options
security
then click custom level
and click disable download

Only thing that stinks is when you want to download something you have to change it but I dont mind saves me the hassle

well i had xupiter installed on my computer.

i was surfing share-traffic and all of a sudden xupiter had arrived. its a silent download. a sneaky little devil that sneaks onto your computer.

which to me is a malicious act.

i had to reload windows to get rid of this.

i knew also to go to the registry keys and delete all keys related to it. not too many people know that they have to do this. its more than just deleting it from your system.

and i wrote to share-traffic and they said i have to let them know which site forced me to download it. as if i knew.

i knew i had it when i went to do a search and there it was lol xupiter came up.

SpyBot-S&D searches your hard drive for so-called spy- or adbots; little modules that are responsible for the ads many programs display. But many of these modules also transmit information about your surfing behaviour and more to the net.

you can get spybot at
http://security.kolla.de/

Ad-Aware removes files used by advertising supported software to "call home" and exchange statistical data. The program will list all detected files, removal is optional and may cause some adware programs to quit working. You can build backups easily before removing adware components or fixing your registry. The included backup-manager lets you reinstall a backup with a single mouseclick. You can also specify to ignore certain components, and keep them remaining on your system without triggering an alert each time you scan. The following advertising systems are detected by AdAware: Adware, Alexa, Aureate v1.0,2.0 and 3.0, Comet Cursor v1.0 and v2.0 Cydoor, Doubleclick, DSSAgent, EverAd, OnFlow, Flyswat, Gator, TimeSink v1.0 and v2.0, Web3000 and Webhancer -

hope it was okay to put the links here - they aren't referral links so I think I am okay

anyhow you should use these progs. daily to clear all this crap from your computer - you will notice your computer won't lag as much either or have as many errors

Wow, I just did a scan w/ Spybot and found 300 problems. Should I delete all of these?? or only some?
burntright
look at the list of known spyware, hijackers, malware, ... that spybot lists on their site if you see any of these start with them first. If you have kazaa though do not erase cydoor because it won't operate without it.

Then see what you have left over - look on the site for those thing again. I haven't had a problem erasing everything but I do not want to say ohhh its completely safe because I do not know what files its finding -
princessbbf2
another suggestion is to do a search on google.com for the name of the scumware & see what results it brings up.

this way you can also find out more about what it's doing to your system.

I'd found this ##### xupiter toolbar colliding against my
firewall every time I'm visiting zoinko.com
I'm not saying the bar comes from they. I'm saying every time
visiting this page the toolbar attempt to install in my
computer.
