Sophie is on holiday...
but from my family history knowledge, in Belgium you have to write to the Municipilaty for the area in which the birth was registered
rootsweb have indexes to tell you which municipilaty you need
http://belgium.rootsweb.com/rep/bel/muni/w...uni.html#placesnot sure if this is any help, it looks a bit out of date for prices as they now use the euro ..

Wow, no wonder It has been almost impossable for my friend to obtain his Belgium Birth certificate, that site you posted seems rather complicated.
All I know is that my friend was born in Brussels, the capital of Belgium.
In Canada, to obtain a BC, all we have to know is the City, and provence of where we were born and the birth places of both parents. I'm just in the process of obtaining my BC as well.
My friend,on the other hand has not had his BC for as long as I've known him, and other people from government agencies here in Canada have tried to help in obtaining it for him and had no results as they obviously didn't have the required information other than the City he was born in and the names of both his parents and his date of Birth. I guess they didn't realize they also were required to know what provence or district.
Maybe another avenue for me to try would be to contact the Belgium embassy, if we have one here in Canada, and see if they may be able to assist in helping to obtain my friends Birth cetificate?
I'm in no hurry, I will also wait to see what Sophecia may have available upon her return from holiday
Thank you for your help though
