As I dont live in the USA and I have close friends that are in the path of hurricane charley can any one please tell me what category hurricane charley is now thanks?

Category 4, it hit west-central Florida today with winds reaching 145 mph.

According to FOXNews only 15 minutes ago, Charley is down to a Category 1 storm at present. However, they do admit it could pick up strength again, once it hits the Atlantic. Hope this helps!

HEY listen guys enough already. Keep this topic free of smart ###### remarks and
sarcasm. Some of you need to keep your minds of your self and realize that there are others out there with relatives in the face of hurricane charley and reading this only makes their stress worse.
They are peeps living in different parts of the world other then the USA that do not
have any way of getting up to date news on the hurricane that a worried sick
about relatives and friends caught in this storm.
Already phone lines are down and people have been killed because of the hurricane.
Those of us who are living in the USA should be doing every thing we possibly can to help ease the pain and stress of those not living the USA by at least keeping smart ###### and sarcastic remarks to our selfs and being helpful by at least posting up to date information on the hurricane.
Put your selfs in the other persons shoes huh? How would you feel if you had loved ones caught in the eye of the storm.?
Now for God sake stop this immediately and think of some one else other than
your selves for once.

You should be utterly ashamed of yourself.
A good human being wouldn't wish any harm to anyone, including that of their worst enimies.
And for you to say that there is no God, only indicates that you think that God would cause harm to someone simply because they did you wrong? Well my friend you're wrong, God doesn't work that way. Many, both Good and bad people will be affected by Hurricane Charlie, natural disaster's are not selective in who they harm.

Before this thread gets moved or lost, I would just like to add that the first person that came to my mind today, when I saw the awful news about the Hurricane on our Canadian news, was April.
I don't know the lady presonally, but my prayer's for her and her family's safety go out to her, I hope she is safe from harms way.

And may God also keep her and her family safe

I live in Florida and lived thru andrew, in broward county, north of miami *ft lauderdale ...it wasn't "fun" here and poor Miami was hit so bad

Now we have Punta Gorda and Charlotte County in ruins, a rising death toll, injuries, devastation, thousands homeless....

This is serious stuff....it could be any of us in florida....or other coastal areas...
or anything, anywhere...earhquakes, twisters, whatever..

diasasters are not a fun or laughing matter....Better to say a prayer, or donate what you can.....here on the east coast we are sending stuff to the broken and battered west coast....it could be us next time...maybe there will be some LEGIT online places to donate or click.....

Til then there are 100's missing...3 hospitals are devastated too...right now they are still evacuating people from a hospital...one moblile home park has significant death toll and they have not even managed to get an ambulance into the park yet, the destruction is so total and so complete...

This is truly sad, please keep these people in your prayers and also the people in the Carolinas where Charley is headed, and may pick up speed again...

I believe the Salvation Army does have a website, and I'm sure they would have some resources set up as to where people could donate needed goods to those affected by disaster's, if anyone feels the need to help out in any way

Canada a town called Kelowna was devestated by a four major forest fires, lot of people were left homeless, and the predict the same thing this year as our provence is experiencing record breaking heat waves this summer.

Well this is a good list I hope, but people don't have to go online to make a donation, they can also contact any local church and find out if they have a disater fund set up for such events as this one, and most Churches will have something. And you don't have to donate money if money is not what you have, you can donate un-parashable food, clothing, toys, household items or anything you can think that a person may need that is a neccesity.
And if you can't find any place that has a donation program set one up yourself and then take what you have collected to any agency such as the Red Cross or the Salvation Army and let them know it's for those affected by Hurricane Charlie and they will see that these donations go to where they are needed.
