I am in the process of MyECom creating my new website "Clearlytheone".

I am a member of several paid to read programs and have seen a variety out there.

I have done research on as many sites as I can in the last 2 weeks to see all the different types of programs and advertising promos out there.

I am interested in how the advertising works. What I am seeing out there doesn't look like there is much of a profit, so my question is "what makes the profit for the sites?".

I notice that the majority does it by Seach Engines. Is this the secret?

Believe it or not but my profession is creating web sites, but this is a new venture for me.

I would appreciate any advise I can get.

Keep it real, pay members on time, they will click for you simple as that, the better results on you ad the more return advertisers you get. Other than that having decent prices also helps no $100 for an ad etc...

I agree with Deek advise.

Clean the database once in a month
Keep your members active so that the advertisers will come again and again..
Reply your members/advertiser within 24hrs this shows how active you are in business.
Try to add some new idea which rewards members daily (some small cents) so that all your members will be active all the days.

I am also a new owner looking for advice and from a members point of view all the above advice is right on the money.

I hate doing searches primarily because if you belong to more than a handful (I'm a member of at least 50) you have to keep finding keywords not used previuosly or it will give you an error message ... which means you the member get paid but not the site owner. When that happens its like the member is cheating but that isn't always the case.

I want to personally invite all webmasters to join my new help group on Yahoo. We all need a place to vent and brainstorm now that more sites are out there ... some of which are super giants.

I would like to build an alliance of website owners. This way we can help build each others member and advertiser base. I am hoping that this can help us compete with those giants and join there ranks.

Heres how to benifit from searches without killling your members:

I asked John to put Searches as an interest on one of my sites....that way those who want extra searches for extra money,,,get them and the others are not bothered by it.

I also have a search contest....they have a search link...have a week to search, email me to tell me thier entering.....then 3 winners are picked who share a % of the search profit....they average about $3.00+ and Love it and It makes me the extra revenue as well

No....incentive is when you tell them they Must click here to recieve so much.....search contests are volunarty....and I have asked the search eneinges in question and Use my own too..

Thats okay with them........the definiation on incentive depends on the place.....when in doubt email them a quick note

I dont hold search contests ...
I just made a group that wants to receive paid searches and then make a search ..
These people get more mails since they wish to receive these.
I dont tell them what to search so I dont think its incentive ..
