Here is a message from Opt-In-Pays

"Announcement: Our PayPal account has been locked by PayPal. We are attempting to find out from PayPal why this has happened and how to unlock it, but so far we have not heard anything. Having the account locked has caused all payments from November earnings that were still pending to be cancelled. It has also caused us to not be able to process payments for advertising purchases on Friday. In response to this, we have implemented a new payment processor to accept payments by credit card and echeck and that is now live! While we are attempting to get our PayPal account back to normal, we will be looking at the many alternatives for sending out your earnings in the future. It's back to business as usual. :-) We apoligize for the inconvenience this has caused!"

It seems that the paypal rumor is not just a rumor. The only problem I have with this is that he said he is cancelling the November payment instead of postponing it and that stinks.

I got pay for november on the 8th. And they prob have to send paypal some papers like every other site and get reinstated. Showing they are not a mlm. They cancel all payment because the account is locked and how do u get money to pay someone if the door of the bank is lock? ai.gif
Don't worry your money is there!!!

I agree. Your money is still there. They just have to find another way to pay you.

Reliable, I think so but I haven't been paid yet because I can't use paypal, so I hope they throw in a new method for getting paid, then I can collect my past dues.

They will.

I chose not to receive payment every month because I didn't want to receive just a few pennies.

I am not worrying at all.

PayPal has probably received direct or indirect pression from credit card companies, and decided to do something serious with the PT industry. Whatever their motivations are, it was clearly a very bad idea to start with Gilby Productions.

What happened actually?

"We choose to stop doing business with Gilby because they are among the best".

Euh... wrong argument.

I did not say to stop doing business with Gilby. I love their sites. Please don't turn this around to that. I am just wondering if there is any worry about Paypal killing all PTR accounts. I mean if they do it to Gilby thay could do it to anyone of us.

I think gilby will straighten out the paypal issue the same way that penniesbyemail had to. Faxing info and writing a letter stating his programs are not an mlm, etc.... Please just sit tight and be patient. I messed up my account some months ago by putting in an extra letter in my paypal i.d. and after 3 months and numerous mutual e-mails he manually corrected the system and I have been paid regularily and even early from all 3 of his programs ever since. If there is a solution gilby will find it.

that's not how i read papnille's comment

i read it as he was 'quoting' what paypal 'might have' said (with a slight hint of sarcasm maybe?)

Please, folks, do not panic. Particularly since there's nothing we can do. People's accounts have been frozen and UN-frozen before. And you are all correct, Gilby Prod. is one of the best and most reliable in the business.

Paypal can be as high-handed as they wish, because they have our money, basically. When I had an issue with them after PJ first started, they basically told me 'too bad' until I FINALLY got on the phone with a LOGICAL person. Since they aren't a bank, they aren't held accountable in the same ways. Unfortunately.

Panicking on OUR part will NOT make it better. I myself do not have a whole lot of funds in there for just this type thing. One thing to consider, however, is that money will STILL GO IN even if your account is frozen, SO CHANGE THOSE PAY LINKS if you need to.
Toni
I think Brenda is correct, lets not panic here!

I've been with opt-in-pays since the VERY beginning.

I had never been in a PTR program before, I heard about it in our online strategy game, called Kamakazi. We had a nice little community, and the guy that hosted the site told me about it (he was member 86), so I signed up, and I was member 136... since then I have branched out.

My first payment form them was 9 cents, and I had 12 refferals, all of them were friends from school...

Ahh... memories.

Before it used to be JUST a Paid to read email program, 1000 points = $1, 10 points to look at a site (I belive there was once 50 points), then he changed it to 5 points to go there, then 5 extra to click a link there. Then he said the emaisl would all be worth different amounts.

Later, about the third month, he put in the paid to click system, 5 cents every 3 hours. Fun aa.gif
