I know it shouldn't surprise me now, and I should have 'sold' my gold membership for a 50 point ad when I had a chance, but I didn't feel my $20 was worth a 50 point ad.

So I kept my gold membership in hopes that things would turn around and there would be some referrals heading my way one day....

(I came over from coppercoins and had 20+ referrals there & the gold membership)

Now we get this email saying that Carole is selling referrals!!

Can you guess how many I have - I'll give you a hint - 0

I'm not huge into GPTR, and probably never will be, but it just sucks when you put your trust into something and it backfires.
I'm just glad that this was the first and only place I invested out of my pocket....and it sure will be the last! ah.gif

Have you contacted Carole asking her about this?
badkitty
Maybe a reminder that you are a gold member who has 0 refs to date will remind her to distribute some of them before she sells the rest?
Good luck is all I can say... ar.gif
mellymom
I did Email her again this time. It's only been about a day, so I probably haven't given her enough time to respond

I was just pretty upset that she didn't take into account her gold members before trying to sell them off

But I did learn my lesson about gold memberships!!
EMailCashFrenzy
awww c'mon.... aa.gif That's kind of harsh. I have some Gold Memberships worth their weight in "gold" so to speak. Some of my others... ah.gif But for the most part I love the programs I'm gold in. You can't judge every program experience by one or you'd quit every one of them probably.

Give Carole a chance, then make your decisions. Glad you emailed her... sometimes we all get a little caught up in life and it takes a bit to get things worked out. ae.gif

I saw the sale also, but I have a Gold membership because of my transfer from coppercoins. I am not expecting any free referrals. I don't believe there is any other programs out there where you can get paid as quick with no referrals. In my positoin anyway the couple of referrals I have earned I got myself. Maybe she should offer at least a discount to the Gold members who actually paid for a gold membership. I don't know. I know that if in my site that if anyone with referrals quit I give those unclaimed members to my gold members, but to each his own as they say. I think Me-Co-Op-Paidmail is still a top notch program.

Here is my non-answer from Carole

"Unfortunately there are 700+ gold members at mec-co-op so it takes a while
which is why it's a lifetime thing."

???? I don't get it ah.gif

As for gold memberships - I'm not putting any of my own $$ into them anymore. I'm saving up withing that program and then buying them that way. And I'm being very very cautious about that!!

This was the only one I put my own $$ into - and I got burned. I'll never see that $20 back. I only have $7 in there now, and it will probably be another year before I get the $10 to cash out. The only reason I'm sticking in is to get my $20 back.
badkitty
Not all gold memberships are like this. I am gold in a few programs and I am very happy with the results.
As for mec-co-op.. I have my own opinion about that program and the webmaster, but that's been said in other posts that are long over with.
Sorry you got duped. ah.gif

And you can still swap your gold membership for a 50 point ad to all, or even five 10 point ads to all....

As for my selling referrals, i sold my own downline, that has nothing to do with your gold membership

gold membership is for new referrals who sign up without a referrer and are automatically given to gold members.

I've e-mailed everyone that i think at mec-co-op gold membership is a waste there are just too many gold members 700+ gold members

It would take forever fore every gold member to get one

Since most of the gold members were paid for with a $20 signup bonus that didn't cost them anything, i think my offer of advertising was more than generous.

I see no reason to give away my own downline.
I sold it.

DId nothing wrong here.

Have you contacted Carole asking her about this?

No i received nothing.
It's typical.
People just don't read mails.

I removed the button to redeem gold membership for advertising, because it had a 1cent value so everyone could see it, and a bunch of idiots kept pressing it...

I've e-mailed my membership, that all they have to do is ask, e-mail me, and i'll swap gold membership out for advertising.

Seems people don't read what i send, then come running to the forums to complain...

I gotta agree with Carole on this one if she is selling her own referrals. I've run into the same dillema myself...I have 1st level referrals with HUNDREDS of downline members...others with 0. How do you give them away to gold members and be fair? Someone would lose out big time and I would feel badly about it even if I did them at random.

The problem with gold membership at mec-co-op is that i gave the option to use the $20 signup fee for gold memberhip and too many people chose that option.

I've been very honest about it, and offered members to swap gold membership for advertising instead.

If they choose to sit with their gold membership, that's their decision.
there were over 900 gold members, now there are 700
200 chose to run ads instead.

I think ive been fair.

Anyone who actually paid for gold membership received 5 referrals as promissed.

I've done everything i could to reduce the gold member base so that more people who stick with gold can receive more referrals.

I do let any new signups go to gold members,

the referrals i sold were my own downline not those that should have gone to gold members.

Any time someone unsubscribes, their downlines show up without an upline, and i transfer them to gold members.

I see no need to give away MY OWN downline, i chose to sell them .
mellymom
Geeze, I did email you for 1. Actually this is the 3rd Email I sent about the gold membership. The first 2 were when coppercoins was merged. I told you then that I paid for my gold membership, and you said you had no referrals to give out at that time.

For 2, I did not get the $20 sign up bonus, I started after that. I paid you $20 out of my own pay pal account. I have 0 referrals, I even said in my Email that I paid you $20 and I have 0 referrals

I was not attacking you, I was stating how disappointed I was.

oh and for 3, the email you sent out to the members stated that the downlines you were selling came from people who had been deleted.

for 4, I don't think the $20 I sent was worth a 50p ad. Just my opinion. At the time you were not cashing in the points for $$ and myself, I was deleting all point ads because I saw no use in them.

My user ID here is not my user ID on your site - I didn't want to do that because I would expect to get deleted then
Mango88
Well you also have the option of 5 - 10 point emails. I think that's well worth it! By being a gold member, you can't always expect to get free referrarls. There is a possibility, but it's not guranteed. The more gold members there are.. the less of a chance you will get referrarls.

Since your username is probably different here than on coppercoins or mec-co-op i couldn't swear one way or the other

Now for the issue at hand..

On mec-co-op when a member paid out of pocket for gold membership, i started them off with 5 referrals.

Because coppercoins didn't have the huge amount of gold members, that was not necessary.

So please e-mail me webmaster@mec-co-op-paidmail.com

give me your coppercoins username, and your mec-co-op username

I will hold your mail about a week, to generate a few more referrals and throw 5 new ones under you.

If i already transferred your mec-co-op to gold because of your purchase for gold at coppercoins, i should have given you 5 referrals at that time, but if you didn't mention that you actually paid out of pocket, i wouldn't have.

So please in addition to your site usernames, also give me this username in this forum, so i know who you actually are..........

subject 5referrals owed me...

that would work for me...

Now another issue you mention that i sold referrals from people who were deleted...Yes that's true, but they were 2 webmasters with huge downlines who were already under my account so when accounts get deleted, the downlines move up right?

WEll they moved up under me.....still my downline...

You should have 6 now.....you'll see them when they log in...

Sorry it took so long to rectify.

I had some time on my hands today, so i browsed and found this thread unsolved....

So i think i solved it now...

They are brand new signups into my downline, 2 have some activity, the others too soon to tell...

Any further problems, if you don't see a total of 6 within a week, let me know.

Thanks
Carole

I wonder who's lifetime she is talking about? Looks like a money grab to me.

THe lifetime of the program such as any other webmaster would give.

I expect to be around a long time god willing...

Why else would i just commit to $450 for a dedicated server with a $150 a month server fee?

good grief, did this concern you? are you even a member?
