quote:

Hi Everyone,
I have some bad news.
PayPal has restricted our account. This means we are not able to send
payments or get our money out of the account.
Here's the story of why it happened:
We sold another one of our sites, DailyWages.com, on Ebay. The person
who won the auction paid for the site using a PayPal account that they
broke into. When this was found out, PayPal took away my payment for
the site and restricted my account, even though I have done nothing
wrong.
To fix our account, we had to fax them copies of a photo ID, utility
bill, credit card statement, and checking account statement. When I
called PayPal to ask how long it would take for this to be processed, they
replied that they could not and would not give me any estimate. A
friend of mine has had his account restricted as well for a different
reason, and he has been waiting more than a month for them to get his
account back to normal
This will have serious implications on our program.

First of all, we will not be able to pay you via PayPal or accept
advertising orders through PayPal.

Second, we will only be accepting e-gold and ad redemptions and e-gold
payments for advertising, until our PayPal account is fixed.

Third, to make up for our tremendous loss of member earnings and
relatively low e-gold fund, we will temporarily be lowering the payment for
paid emails to 1 cent each and new program notifications to 0.75 cents
each. These amount will be raised as soon as we get a good amount of
e-gold to use to pay our members.

Fourth, we will try to make payment to you within 24 hours, but we
can't guarantee anything.

We will be setting up an AnyPay and NetPay account in order to accept
payments and payout using these services.

I want to express my apoligies to all of you for this great
inconvienience and I hope you're willing to help us through these tough times.

Say goodbye to the Paypal account. People are still trying after two years to get their accounts from being unrestricted when they did nothing wrong.

I guess the guy, who bought the site on eBay should be punished .. just because him so much people are in trouble now ..

My PayPal account is currently restricted due to an unfortunate misunderstanding with another individual. I didn't do anything to deserve it, and he reported me for "nonpayment of funds" when he thought he was reporting someone else (long story), so I guess mine is history too huh, even if I do what they say to get it back?

There is currently a class action law suit against Paypal. I don't know the details, but you people who have been wrongly accused by Paypal and have had your accounts frozen need to join in.

I just want to say thanks to all the people who have emailed me letter of support

Some of the emails have scared me however. Many people are going through the same thing and have had to wait from 1 week to 2 years!

So wish me luck
I'm just going to annoy them by phone everyday and hopefully they'll get something done.

I had a similar problem back in December, PayPal restricted my account because someone emailed them telling me I was a member of a pyramid scheme that used PayPal (which was actually a legal MLM). Two weeks of emails, and my account was reopened.

They didn't email me when my account became restricted. They didn't email me when my account was reopened. All I got was one email telling me why my account got temporarily frozen.

2 weeks, hmmm...
So now I've gotten reports of anywhere from a week, two weeks, a month, a few months, a year, two years, and still waiting...

I think I'll keep on calling. Make the customer support people so annoyed that they'll open my account just to get rid of me

Chris,
Sorry to hear what happened. I had my paypal account frozen, sent in all the paper work they wanted, e-mailed them and still waiting. It's been a month now. I only had a few dollars so I'm not that concerned. Here is a link, but I warn you, it won't make you feel good reading the posts there:

I wish you all the luck in working it out with them.
