http://www.apache.org/ use this if you have linux installed in your system

You can use www.easyphp.org this is apache php ad mysql so you will be able to make your homepage or other web page.. also you must to have static IP

lol apache runs on windows as well!
I use it with PHP and MySQL, runs perfect.

If your not doing anything like PHP or mySQL then you could try Xerver. I think it can run PHP and other scripts but if you want to do that you might as well go with apache.

Easy steps to do this.

1. Whipe your computer clean.
2. Download Linux.
3. Get Apache or something similar.
4. Read the manuals for both.

At home we have 2 computers and a central Dell Server that we run an ethernet off of basically. It mainly stores my MP3s but I can make it into a webserver. It runs off of Redhat and I'd just have to purchase a Cpanel Liscence if I wanted to sell space like that but I just have a nice cheap reseller from an excellent company who gave it to me under a special "Deal"
