This goes out to anyone who useing IE.

I'm not sure if its OS dependent but go to C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\drivers\etc

and copy and paste the contents of your hosts file. Preferable if you don't know what it is and haven't made any changes. (You can open it with notepad)

-Thanks

Got your host file modified something? :\ This is mine (sorry, I know what it is... does that disqualify me? tongue.gif ):

# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
#      102.54.94.97    rhino.acme.com          # source server
#      38.25.63.10    x.acme.com              # x client host

127.0.0.1      localhost

Eww, CWS, what a nasty thing to get. sad.gif Hope you got rid of it already.

And you're welcome.

//edited to add: If someone doesn't know it, there are chances their hosts file has been modified by a virus and they don't know about it? ph34r.gif Usually people think that antivirus programs does it all for them and they needn't know the technical details to double-check...

Yep, took forever though.
interp
that file used only for storing IP address of a host,
much like a DNS server
so i don't think it should be any danger

except maybe that some one insert let a fake address huh.gif
