I'm not an expert on search engines, but the two ones I've tried have bring me good results: xraysearch and omegasearch.

Indeed. XRay and Omega are good.

Diggy Search is having an awesome click contest for the month of July. Looks like it will be
very profitable if you can send a decent amount of traffic
$3.00 minimum payout.
Omega has a $7.00 minimum payout, easy to reach and has paid me 3x.

can someone explain to me what the difference is between PTR and Search? Both seem to send you a link to click on and credit your account after perusing the site for a few seconds.

If you are a member of a search engine, you are the one sending the ads via PTR or whatever form of advertising you choose. You earn a certain percentage of the advertiser's bid for every valid search that someone makes from your link

Search Drifter and Search and Shop are both reliable engines. Both have paid me. Search Drifter has a minimum payout of $5.00 and Search and Shop's minimum is only $2.00. Both are pretty easy to reach (and surpass) depending on where and how much advertising you do.
