I'm in Hiddenite, NC. A lil town next to Taylorsville....between Hickory and Statesville.
I've only been in this state for 4 years now. If it wasn't for my loving fiance, I would move back out west to Phoenix. I am originally from Des Plaines, Illinois.

Just curious where everyone is and if there are any getpaid members near me.

Ciao!

I use to live in N.C., Charlotte N.C. Now I'm down here in Florida. To my displeasure. (I miss the snow)
ncghosthunter
Charlotte's not that far, about 45 mins from me...

I hate the heat, would rather live in Seattle or Montana....someplace like that.

So you're asking...why Phoenix again then? Well......had a lot of good friends out there. I miss them dearly. My dad also lives in Prescott area. Miss him dearly. And other bits and pieces.

As you can tell from my name Im not from there lol but I have relatives there, Arden, NC to be exact...we go there every year and absolutely love it! Such a difference from NY, so nice and quiet.

One thing I do not like though is to get to their home is 1 small road and the other side a nice cliff lol. Little to spooky when you have someone comming at you, but the barbeque there is yuuummmy lol wink.gif

I'm in Missouri but my son-in-law is at Camp Lejuene there in N.C. We visited him last month. We loved N.C.! Reminded us of Missouri. The people were very friendly and down to earth. I remember a sign saying Taylorsville so we must have been somewhere near you. smile.gif

Camp Lejeune is no where near Taylorsville...we are about 45 mins NW of Charlotte, in the foothills. If I understand right, Camp Lejeune is way east.

As for Buffalos Restaurant.....Ummmm, I think I have heard of it. My fiance and I don't go to Hickory much other than to a friend's house or to Barnes and Noble...and ACMoores for me *grins*. We usually can't afford restaurants such as Buffalos, Applebees and such. Hickory is only 19 miles from us...about 15 mins drive.

HI ! smile.gif I'm from Travelers Rest, SC - just north of Greenville.

Took a ride on the scooter yesterday with my husband and actually passed the sign for Hickory, NC on a misguided trip. We were heading for Hot Springs, NC but somehow ended up near Enka and Candler blink.gif Don't ask me how - I wasn't doing anything but sitting on the back seat and looking cute cool.gif laugh.gif

I didn't say the Camp was anywhere near Taylorsville, but after reading my post again, it could be taken that way. We did alot of traveling while we were there. Mostly in Charlottesville and surrounding. Musta been where I saw the sign? Camp Lejuene is in Jacksonville. smile.gif
