OK I think I'm going to go ahead and jump in to the wide world of internet addicts. Ha Ha It seems that from what I've heard the best way to earn any sort of real money is to have a web site. But that homepages really aren't good enough.

While surfing I've seen ads for free hosting and I read here that domain registering is now very cheap. I thought I read $ 8 something a yr.?

So help me please where do I start.?

How do I even know what domain names are available? Do I have to pay anything? I am actually thinking of starting a Paid to Read (don't know how much I'm gonna spend yet) and I don't know how to know if a name has been taken already. So how do I see which names are available? And how much does a PTR cost? And how much is hosting and other fees and extra goodies?
