dns = domain name server
a dns is a server that translates e.g. www.getpaidforum.com into the right ip address...
www.getpaidforum.com = 69.93.160.116 (in this case the hosts...)
69.93.160.116 is the "REAL" address of the website. (or multiple sites if they share public ip?s)
I'm a Mac user, you'll have to forgive me, I have no understanding of HOW a computer works, I just know that I press certain keys and click certain buttons and my wonderful machine does works! And I have used Macs since the very first one!
I'm on dial up. Not really sure how to find my IP. Never have understood any of the "whois" conversations, when everyone is trying to track down the info of cheaters & hackers.
