99% of the time I got some response from people. You must be that unlucky 1% though. lol

Join the program you introduce is a BIG step for everyone here and you will know why later on.

Rainlily
Well this is only the second time you've ever posted in General discussion, all of your other posts have been in folders like the downline builder, spend more time in folders like General discussion and chit chat and you will get a much warmer response...
cajunlady
Since the majority of your posts thus far have been in the downline builder, how can you say we aren't friendly? You say "every time" but this is the first you've posted in the General Discussion Forum. Not sure just what you expected. blink.gif

Hello WicketWild and welcome to the forum.

I have noticed that you are on post # 15 at the moment. Typically, if you are simply posting to introduce a program (wanting people to sign up under you), then yes, that is not treated as a friendly discussion. At the most, it is a purely business topic (advertising) and typically is not open for discussion. You present the program and the viewers either join or not.

As far as having normal "general discussions" such as this thread, you see you DO get response.

I also know some people tend to be a little cold to new members that simply join the forum, promote something but not contribute to the discussions that are currently on the list.

That to me, is borderline spamming even if you post it in the appropriate area. I'm sure others feel the same way.

Just like in the real world, if you introduce yourself here just to say "hi", discuss a topic, people will start to get to know you.

How friendly are you to the stranger who knocks on your door to sell you something compared to your friend that wants to introduce you to something?

Same kind of rules apply here. That is only human wink.gif

Once again, welcome and hope to see you around this place more often.

I've found this to be a forum filled with friendly and wonderful people. I have posted questions before and only gotten 2 or 3 responses, mostly because the others who have read the message either didn't know the answer or didn't have anything new to say.

I hope you stick around and try again.

You know, people here are looking for something that interests them, if you asked about a program that I am not a member I can't help and I sincerly don't even bother reading the thread..
something that you may know... in this forum (as much as I noticed) there are some rules that have to be respected, Post your message in the appropriate folder and not everywhere (e.g promoting a program in the downline builder or the similar folders, asking about money in the payment system or the money exchange...etc), You can visit the chit chat and say anything you want though.

Sorry that you don't feel welcomed at this forum WicketWild wink.gif

This forum is for most of the time a very friendly and good place, however it does have those "moments" sometimes, but who doesn't... wink.gif

Hopefully you have a better experience here at the forum from now on, and if you have questions you can post or PM me- as long as it's not spam..

P.S. Your username is cool wink.gif

it's hard to open up and become instant friends when there's SOOOO many new people signing up every day.

and on top of that most of the new people who make their posts violate the rules in some way or another and many of the members are tired of it so they will tend to not spend a bunch of time debating with newbies.

this is such a popular forum that it very often the target of spam and most of the time that spam comes from newbies or people who have created a new account just to spam.

so there's a bit of hesitation and reluctance to open our arms and embrace every newbie who pops in.

but it WILL change with time. make respectable productive posts and people will notice eventually.

or just say "hi all. I am new." and you will get a bunch of people greeting you warmly. I know I always try to reply to those types of threads from newbies.

so, having said that, Welcome to GPF!! it's a jungle in here, but if you are daring enough to brave the dangers of GPF you can get a lot of valuable information. you just have to keep looking, keep asking, and don't lose hope.

as for me, my inbox is ALWAYS open. you can PM me anytime if you have questions.

I'm not a major poster here, but every time I've had a question, problem, etc., this forum has answered me ... not to mention that the times I've read over the ChitChat forum, I've just laughed or cried or learned something .. give us a chance!! smile.gif

go to "my controls" and change your settings. please don't criticize, just ask for whatever help you may need, you'll find you'll have people falling over each other to answer questions IF they know the answer.

Go to My Controls at the top of the page then scroll down to Board settings. You can set the page length there.

I know 2 others already beat me to it but...

Click on MY CONTROLS at the top right (just below the banner)...

Then, scroll down and click on Board Settings.
There are 2 drop down boxes:
Number of posts to show for each topic page
Number of topics to show for each forum page

I have mine maxed out on both (40)

Only do this though if you are on a fast internet connection.
