I set off on a genealology search starting with ancestry.com. I posted my grandfathers name and year of birth. and that he had a twin brother I knew very little about him, just that he fought im ww1. I also wrote to the army. I never met him. This is all only a couple of months ago. The army wrote back and said they had war medals to pick up and now I just received an email. Someone told me that my grandfather was one of 8 children and that he (the writer) was the son of my grandfathers sister and that he knew him. Wow this is a miracle that someone should look at the site. I have a new family I am so excited. You never know whats going to happen!!!

Thanks anne, I thought at the most I might find some distant relative further back but not this. This is a direct relative, they are just the sort of relative my grandfather considers direct family.
