This is a general complaint, not aimed at any one PTR, but at all that allow the selling of down-lines. The reason that I am so P.Oed about this particular topic at the moment is I just had 90% of a down-line (861 people to be exact) sold out from under me. I am not naming the program simply because it is not the only program that allows this practice. However the particulars of my account are this I have been a member of this program for 14months, have been an upgraded member for 10 of those months. I have spent a fair amount on promoting the site, have clicked over 25,000 links, did all my searches and followed the rules to the letter and this happens, because someone was allowed to sell their down-line I went from 900 down-line members to 39 in the space of a few hours.

Now I know there are likely a lot of people that disagree with me on this issue. They probably feel it is their down-line so they should be able to do what they want with it. But, I beg to differ, the money earned by that down-line is what belongs to them, the down-line itself belongs to everyone who has a vested interest in it and should be treated as such.

Selling down-lines should NOT be allowed!!!!!!!!!!! mad.gif

in a way, you are correct, but in a way you are not. I think if you want to sell your downline, go ahead, but you have to sell your whole account. Not just your refs. No refs should be transfered, becasue that takes them out of other peoples downlines

I agree with rocky here. Downline sellings are fine, I think, as long as the account is transferred, NOT the referrals, because this would create a loop chain and all uplines would lose the downline.

OR referrals can be sold as long as they have no upline. Other than these two situations, I do believe it is wrong to steal someone's hard work by selling their referrals that's not even the PO's.

biggrin.gif When I allow Downlines to be Sold, I insist the whole acct gets sold, As I feel that I am not at liberty to move downlines around like that. I also insist that I am made aware of the sale BEFORE it is made. I have even helped members sell their accounts. Selling of an account any other way is just wrong dry.gif

What should happen is that the PO needs to be involved and make the person that bought the downline give up his old account and resign up under the sellers upline if the buyer is new to the program. If the buyer is already a member he must resign and resign up under the seller's upline. Then the referral can get moved with no problem. and a person 2 levels up will never know the difference. I myslef have done it once.

The PO of this program doesnt sound like a thinking person or didnt care.

Selling downlines is okay... but not having them moved!! That is robbery. dry.gif

You have a legit. reason to be angry. cool.gif

That is really unfair. If a downline is sold, no one in that downline should be effected. It should be seamless.

name and shame the program

ohmy.gif I would complain that is crazy.

I allow the selling of accounts at my site and I have a strict rule that it must be posted on the page of the auction that anyone purchasing the account that is already a member must take on ownership of the purchased account and delete their old account. When the sale is final, I go in and change the password and give the new password to the purchaser. They then must take on the username and change all info once inside their new account.
This way no one is affected by the sale of the account.
If you referred those members and earn from them, it is your right to keep them. Why bother getting referrals if they can be taken away from you.
I don't know what program you're referring to but I would bring it to the attention of the PO, it's possible they haven't given it any thought on how this affects the other members
Good Luck!
