Alas, I was hit up to help two gentlemen with their new forum and I tossed some ideas around, etc. Told them to list me as their Marketing Consultant in exchange, as they were hard up for cash... Spent about 4 hours on it, promised to help further.
But woe is me, when I went to log in today I was BANNED! OMG!

OMG! That's just not right! Have you resolved anything with them? Why do people have to take what they can get without even a thank you.
yes please do name them and shame them. I wouldn't want these guys to be gettin any members when they banned the member that helped them the most.

Funny how it's so easy to ask for help and to receive it and then forget (or ignore) where it came from. Banned you?? Good gawd! Tends to make you think the next time.

Well, I heard from them finally, it was evidently some kind of technical glitch.
Which somehow deleted my posts and banned me, but left the rest of the forum intact.
Right. Could be, but I don't much care now.
The reason I was suspicious is because one of them seemed inordinately displeased that the other had asked me for help. What they HAD been doing is hitting everyone up for advertising. I offered them help, not ads, in exchange for being listed as their Marketing Consultant somewhere on their site. That is, after all, what I was helping them with. Lucas was excited about this, Bevan was suspicious, because after all, I am very very fond of GPF and promote it constantly. He couldn't understand that I could help them and promote another forum with ease. No other forum will be the same as Get Paid Forum, it's not an issue of competition.
I think Lucas is probably just fine, it was Bevan who seemed to misunderstand how things work. Networking is the singlemost important activity webmasters do.
I don't think that my assertion that they just could NOT hope to compete with GetPaidForum and needed to offer something ELSE to prospective members went over well at all. It's the truth, however. It's like cola, why come up with one just like Coca-Cola? Coca-cola already exists and sells so well that there's just no room for more than what's already out there.
